The Democrats are Flawed, But...
Stop. Please Take 2 Minutes. Read the Blurb.

".......a desire to see the Democrats take over Congress -- even a strong desire for that outcome and willingness to work for it -- does not have to be, and at least for me is not, driven by a belief that Washington Democrats are commendable or praiseworthy and deserve to be put into power. Instead, a Democratic victory is an instrument -- an indispensable weapon -- in battling the growing excesses and profound abuses and indescribably destructive behavior of the Bush administration and their increasingly authoritarian followers. A Democratic victory does not have to be seen as being anything more than that in order to realize how critically important it is.

A desire for a Democratic victory is, at least for me, about the fact that this country simply cannot endure two more years of a Bush administration which is free to operate with even fewer constraints than before, including the fact that George Bush and Dick Cheney will never face even another midterm election ever again. They will be free to run wild for the next two years with a Congress that is so submissive and blindly loyal that it is genuinely creepy to behold. A desire for a Democratic victory is also about the need to have the systematic lawbreaking and outright criminality in which Bush officials have repeatedly engaged have actual consequences, something that simply will not happen if Republicans continue their stranglehold on all facets of the Government for the next two years......"

5. The founders knew all people are flawed.
The Constitution and Bill of Rights were much more reliable than any person or group.

8. Democratic members of Congress still believe in constitutional democracy.

Yes. Most of them have their heads trapped in the beltway sphincter, but at least we have a shot at being heard. They actually do believe in our constitituional democracy (which means a lot more than majority rules. It's about minority rights, individual rights, restraints on power).

This is NOT something that can be said for a vast majority of those who label themselves Repubican. They are out for "Our Small Faction" -- the righteous! They have no qualms about destroying our constitutional democracy to gather power to themselves. As all fascists, whatever the label (Theocrasy, Aristocrasy, Monarchy. . .) they belief they have some inherent right to rule and impose their will on everybody else (and they really mean, everybody else. . . every act is aimed at spreading their sphere of power and authoritarian rule.)

When we vote Democratic, we are not voting for "them" -- we are voting to keep OUR POWER.

10. I think the choice between one slightly flawed party
and one downright sick and corrupt one is an obvious choice. While I don't agree with every dem stance, and I'm a registered independant, I really can't see myself voting for anything except for Dem as long as the republicans have any chance of winning anything.
