i am burning a Iraq flag in my mind.
is that legal? well i do not give a rats ass if anybody does not like it. these people have had enough time to get their act together. we have lost enough Americans, and spent way to much money there already. i am on notice to the Iraq people, you have your chance and you better make a move real soon or i say we leave and do not even look back. we are done with you.

Were all too much to spend on this useless, fraudulent, and doomed adventure.

2. Yeah, how dare they...
Edited on Sat Sep-30-06 06:03 PM by Kutjara
...let us invade their country under false pretenses, destroy their political and economic infrastructure, fail to provide even basic civil security in 99% of the country, torture their citizens and turn their country into a vision of hell on earth. If they're not grateful after all we've done, fuck em. We should definitely take our toys away and go invade someone else, preferably someone who'll appreciate it.

6. "get their act together"?
Would that be the act they were forced to play when England created the country out of 3 separate, warring tribes? Is this the act that you want them to take up again?

They never HAVE been a real country, you know. Saddam just kept the lid on, that's all.

bush lied about WMD, invaded Iraq, disbanded the Iraqi army and all public service, set up a likeable government and continues to occupy the country.

And you want to blame the Iraqi people who don't even want us there???

17. pwb.....Would you just sit on your hands if
a foreign government invaded this country, tore down our statues, looked the other way while The Smithsonian got raided, changed our currency, set up road blocks, took over our oilfields, tortured some of us, killed tens of thousands of us, installed a puppet government, gave away our jobs to "contractors" from their country, hired mercenaries, bombed our cities, controlled our water, sewers and electrical grids? Would you defend your home and family against invaders? If you did, would you be a terrorist?

49. They are killing out troops because we are occupying their country.
Perhaps if our troops quit killing 10 times as many of them, quit torturing their grandparents, quit raping their young daughters, quit occupying their country, perhaps then the Iraqis would quit killing our troops.

this misadministration? Has that worn out also? Do you like the way the country has been bancrupted in the name of a never ending war on terror? Do you approve of the way the corporations in Iraq are raking it in hand over fist? Those are our tax dollars, not some imaginary shit pulled out of the air.

If this country was invaded I would wager 99% of us would say it's good to kill the invader. They don't give a flying fark about us being christians.

29. The second flag is a Baathist creation...not necessarily "Iraqi"
The three-star flag was introduced by the Baathist government. The Baath is a secularist Arab socialist movement and would therefore be most unlikely to symbolize the existence of any religious sect or non-Arab ethnic group in its choice of flag designs. Even before the rise of the Baath, according to Phebe Marr's Modern History of Iraq, Iraqi governments have long tried to eradicate subnational loyalties wherever possible as a way of solidifying support for the (Sunni-Arab-led) unitary state. Far more likely, therefore, that a government committed to pan-Arabism (as the government that adopted the three-star flag in 1963 was) would choose to echo the symbols chosen by other pan-Arabist governments. Charles Tripp's A History of Iraq says (p. 173) that (in 1963), "Initially the new regime proclaimed a desire for unity with Egypt," and (p. 174) "The government entered into a tripartite commitment to unification with Egypt and Syria in April 1963" after a coup in Damascus brought a Baathist government to power there. According to one website on Iraqi flags the three stars stood for the three countries of the proposed union when the flag was adopted in 1963, but the meaning was changed to the three words of the Baath motto, "freedom, unity, socialism," after the 1968 coup that brought the Saddam Hussein faction of the party to power.
