Sorry, but how many times have we seen this happen? Too fucking many to count. What? You think this stuff is going to bear real fruit? You think the MSM or the political authorities are going to keep on this?

When fucking pigs fly.

All of these stories are reaching their zenith this weekend. Monday will begin the gradual but steady disappearance into the ether.

And I fucking hate it.

2. Business as usual, as you said. And we thought Reagan had Teflon?
It is indeed infuriating. And depressing.

3. I don't know about that...
maybe the Abramoff thing unless more comes out. Woodward will be doing appearances all over the place next week promoting his book. Watch the book shoot up the NYT bestseller list.

Foley's tough to forget and when you add that Hastert knew for a year...since it involves sex I'm inclined to think it'll stick. (pardon the pun) :smoke:

6. Can't count on the media
to get the message out. You're right, we'vee seen this a hundred times already. Talk to people you meet, make it the topic of coversations. It's up to all of us to get these crimes in front of as many people as possible. Tell people about Air America. Be the media.

7. Baloney
It probably already has peeled some voters away from the Republican Party. Once they make up their mind based on issues such as child predators, it's unlikely they'll give that Party a pass.

Doesn't matter if this issue fades by next week - another will replace it.

Now, quit being a Debbie-Downer. This is the last thing we need around here. Go work for a candidate and stop this nonsense.

12. Maybe so. But the bad news is enough to erase the momentum
that the repukes have been gaining over the past month. And basically, that's all we need.

20. Okay. I hope I lose!
Though the "results" will be open for interpretation. But I'll check into the DU lounge next Saturday at 1PM Pacific. The subject line will be: "The Wager." If I'm wrong, I'll gladly pay up. We'll consult other DUers to determine who won.

19. I think Abramoff is just now becoming the story in Sacramento.
Bush* visits Doolittle's district on 03 Oct for a fundraiser at a 'gated' Country Club. There will lots of news coverage of the event, and I'll bet dimes to donuts the back stories will also include the Doolittle/DeLay/Abramoff connection. Charlie Brown is hitting hard on the subject: Doolittle supports Sex Slavery, Forced Abortions, and Sweatshops!!!!

I hear Doolittle radio ads featuring former congressman Doug Ose countering the charges, and falling way short of the mark. Heck, here's a KCRA news clip from Youtube that shows the sort of exchange that is going on. I'm still waiting to hear Doolittle personally deny the charges.

it's just sordid enough for the press to start a feeding frenzy. They will chase down every juicy detail that they can.
