Wrong for U.S. to 'stay the course' in Iraq war

Richard Zink suggests in his letter of Sept. 18 that we should listen to our President and "stay the course" in Iraq. He also claims this is a war like any other war, and that we merely have to change our tactics. I suggest we change our tactics by not getting ourselves involved in any more useless and illegal conflicts. The war was started under false pretenses and should never have happened in the first place.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is living in the same bubble as the Bush administration and is completely out of touch with reality. Bush is just waiting for his term to end so he can pass off the disaster he and the rest of his staff created to the next administration. Mr. Zink infers that it's the politicians who are turning the "civilians" against the war.

I think that the majority of Americans have figured out by themselves that once again they have been lied to and conned by a shifty and not overly bright President. We spent 10 years in Vietnam and lost both the war and nearly 60,000 soldiers. What makes Mr. Zink believe this will turn out any different?

There hasn't been a justified war since World War II; this is certainly the least justified that I can remember. If we follow Mr. Zink's advice and stay the course, we will be bogged down in the middle of an Iraqi civil war that has already begun. The series of distortions and outright lies that led us to the present mess culminated with the concept of bringing freedom and democracy to the Iraqi people.

Name me ONE, just ONE TIME when Dear Leader has *listened* and changed his view on ANY DAMN THING?

Either we will have to wait until Jan 2009, or Impeach this CRIMINAL Executive Branch.

There's only TWO choices ... ONE of the foregoing choices will come to fruition. :(
