Foley and the House leadership are f**ked! BIG TIME!
Here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Walsh_Child_Protection_and_Safety_Act

"The Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act (Pub.L. 109-248) was signed into law by U.S. President George W. Bush on July 27, 2006. The legislation organizes sex offenders into 3 tiers, and mandates that Tier 3 offenders update their whereabouts every 3 months. It makes failure to register and update information a felony. It also creates a national sex offender registry and instructs each state and territory to apply identical criteria for posting offender data on the Internet (i.e., offender's name, address, date of birth, place of employment, photograph, etc.).

Other elements:

* Gives the U.S. Attorney General the authority to apply the law retroactively (cf. ex post facto law).
* Establishes a national database which will incorporate the use of DNA evidence collection and tracking of convicted sex offenders with Global Positioning System technology.
* Increases the mandatory minimum incarceration period of 25 years for kidnapping or maiming a child and 30 years for sex with a child younger than 12 or for sexually assaulting a child between 13 and 17 years old.
* Increases the penalties for sex trafficking of children and child prostitution.
* Widens funding to assist local law enforcement in tracking sexual exploitation of minors on the Internet.
* Creates a National Child Abuse Registry to protect children from being adopted by convicted child abusers.

The Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act was signed on the 25th anniversary of the abduction Adam Walsh from a shopping mall in Florida. Adam Walsh was murdered 16 days after his abduction and the perpetrator of the crime has yet to be brought to justice. Adam Walsh's father is John Walsh, host of the popular television series America's Most Wanted."

Here is the full law:

Yeah and there is a law on the books under which people who cover up sexual abuse can be prosecuted. And you all know that those Evangelicals aren't going to like Dennis Hastert covering up child sex abuse, so this fella is probably going to see the inside of a jail cell soon.

1. Great post, but I disagree on one point

Evangelicals will be pissed at hastert for not succeeding in the coverup. They don't give a fuck about right and wrong when it comes to controlling the government. They don't care what foley is doing to whom as long as he supports their hate and intolerance in the form of votes and appropriations.

2. And it was all on their own law. I remember hearing Walsh...
was having difficulty getting the law passed, I wonder if it was related to this in anyway.

3. Hastert is just below Cheney in terms of succession to the presidency.
When was Vice-President Cheney or President Bush told about Foley's behavior by Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert?

*channeling my dream press conference*

4. Well we all know Karl Rove would have been told...
as he is the brains behind this experiment in fascism. So I think it will sprout legs, but you know it doesn't matter how much the executive knew, it only matter that the House knew, that way we can take it back and get the little fuckers for all of their crimes.

Be patient grasshopper, anyone who has broken the law will be caught. The long arm of the law is long enough to reach the President.

5. But it'd be so nice to have the words president and pedophile linked
together in mainstream news. :D
