Gen. Peter Pace still believes Saddam was behind 9/11 attacks

At least according to Woodward . . .

http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/457062p-384625c.html

Woodward makes other shocking revelations:

Eager for accurate information out of Iraq, Rice dispatched her deputy, Frank Miller, to Baghdad. But when Miller came across smiling Iraqi kids, he didn't realize "that in Iraq the thumbs-up sign was the equivalent of the American middle finger salute."

Over dinner in Baghdad, Lt. Gen. Richard Sanchez complained to Miller that the billions Congress authorized for Iraq's reconstruction were slow in coming. "Prove to me that Iraq is the No. 1 priority because I don't see it from here," he reportedly said.

Just before Gen. Peter Pace was named chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a close friend warned him, "You should not be the parrot of the secretary's shoulder." But Pace has "zero doubts" about the war and apparently still believes that Saddam was behind the 9/11 attacks

2. Pace would make a good Nazi
Once again proving that the best military commanders didn't want desk jobs and the management/career bozos do.

3. Ask the vast majority of US troops what they think of pace. And rummy.
But only if you don't mind the air around you turning blue.

4. There's a joke about Marines here, but I respect them too much to make it.
This guy's Memorial Day address at Arlington last May was a big, wet, kiss to President Bush. Too political by all standards.

I went to the JCS website to get the text, and what do you know, they didn't post it!

7. This is Woodward's spin. Pace has repeatedly contradicted Rummy
and Bush about allegations of Iranian meddling in Iraq. Even if he once believed the official line, and repeated it, he doesn't now.

8. Tell him to take all the evidence he has to prove it...
...and rush it over to the courthouse where Saddam is being tried. We've got the guy in custody, and we're trying him for all the heinous shit he did when he was our ally. Why haven't we added "Masterminding 9/11" to the list of charges, hmmm?

Because it's bullshit, and everyone with an IQ higher than a fucking houseplant knows it!

Seriously, where the fuck do they find these mental pygmies?

12. so the Senate just unanimously approved half a trillion dollars
to line the pockets of people like Pace, who clearly has some kind of mental handicap. If they're going to spend so much money on war, can they at least put non-morons in charge?

14. Which makes me think Peter Pace was probably involved in 9-11.
Why would anyone with a brain cling to this otherwise? He's done nicely for himself, hasn't he?

15. So will it be THESE guys who decide who gets tortured for terrorism?
So, not only does the military piss away money faster than drunk in a casino, they're stupid too!

I, for one, am not speaking for the rest here, but I don't trust the military as far as I can throw them.

They enabled Bush to go to this useless war, they (the vast majority of them) continue to support the war, and they shout down those who oppose it without (and with!) military experience as if they know more about politics because they were taught how to use a gun and read all of the propaganda from military oriented publications and listen to talk radio.

In order to be economically comparable to other countries such as Russia and China, our military should be what, one TENTH the size it is? Practically all income taxes go to pay for the military (as opposed to corporate taxes or SSI, etc) and what job are they doing for us to keep us safe? Great going on 9/11, guys, and you really spoke up when Rumsfeld told you not to do any planning for after-war Iraq, just when we needed you!

Maybe if we didn't HAVE a military capable of waging wars 1/2 way across the world we wouldn't be DOING it...

PS: if college was free, as it SHOULD be, 80% of the people joining the military WOULDN'T join, and judging by this waa-hoo, (and 90% of the military who agree with the General) we'd have a much more intelligent citizenry.
