Yet, something far more valuable than a perverted prick fuck is at stake.

Sorry, I think my liberties are much more valuable.

You can focus on Foley.

I'll stick with the torture issue myself.

11. Since when couldn't Dems handle four or five things at one time?
With one hand tied behind our backs? I'm not willing to forget Foley but I'm not going to forget the Iraq report, Woodward's new book, the upcoming elections, the scandals, fraud, the lying, etc. All of these things will stay front and center because each and every one of them deserve our full attention. These horrible acts have hurt many people in order to enrich a few.

The Dems need to make sure every single scandal is hung around the repugs neck and rung like a cowbell every minute of every day for the next two years. No more sitting quietly by while the repugs implode - this is war. They think Dems are soft on war? Won't fight? Let's prove them doubly wrong. They brought this on themselves but if we don't use every single advantage to help this country we truly are lost.

I think our Rock Hard, Tumescent, Purple-veined, Engorged, Throbbing Republican friends would prefer we whine about the battle they already won than snipe at them on their way to the one in November. I could be dead wrong.

17. No need to apologize ...
Thank you though.

You are entitled to your own opinion, as well, as we all are.

I think this issue is huge. I would bet more dollars than donut holes that many more people think the same.

I just hope we stay on target. This is definitive, again, in my opinion.

You were kind enough to apologize, yet no apology was required.

But I get quite tired of it. How many fucking phone calls to your Senators and Congressmen have you made in the last three days, oh righteous one? Get the fuck off my back. What do you think we have been doing all damn week? Maybe we can take a moments respite ,if it is all right with you and the others who have decided to pop in and tell us what to do this fine morning!

I would like to relax perhaps an hour or two after 72 hours of frenzied activity without a bunch of people dropping in and pontificating why everybody is not living up to their personal standards of concern. It is most annoying.

My point is is get off your moralizing high horse & quit lecturing us. You'll quickly learn, if you haven't already, it isn't all that effective here. People have been frenzied, I dare say equally as agitated as you apparently have been. Simply by being here most of the 97,000 odd registrants are patriots and deeply upset by the events of the last few days. Yes, I am a master of understatement. And yes, I am as outraged as anyone on this board, if you spend any amount of time here you will learn I have sacrificed much in service of this Country, I love her deeply and while I am not always her most articulate defender, I pride myself in being one of the staunchest and most loyal stalwarts against despotism you will find.

I answer to your question, I am the handsome one;)

13. Sex Sells
Yes, we need to address torture, but from a position of strength, not from the hinterlands we're in now. Focusing on Foley gets us closer to the day when we can bring up this regime's abuse of rights on many fronts and do it as a majority party in the House and or Senate.

While I'd love to be high-minded and think that torture and Iraq and other issues we feel are of principal is what wins elecctions, let's be real here. Nothing gets the corporate media's fascination than a politician connected to a dead naked girl or live naked boy.

Instead of the corporate media feeding the line on how Democrats are weak on defense or "have no plan", the focus will be on the Repugnicans and their lack of accountability and responsibility. Suburban white women...soccer moms and women in the South already were turning on the GOOP and this could seal the deal. Wars and lies are bad, but sex with young boys and lies are even worse. It's gonna force the Repugnicans to be on the defensive during a critical week of an election campaign and give some valuable cover to many local Democratic races.

We've been handed an October surprise that wasn't of our making, but sure can be used to our advantage...and there's nothing wrong with that. It's called politics and our need to restore some sanity to this country and then accountability has to be accomplished with keeping the Repugnicans on the defensive and the corporate media distracted and on a topic that makes Repugnicans look bad.

If this episode swings the House and Senate Democratic next January, then we turn our attention back to torture and do it from a position of strength.

28. Yes sex sells, truth fires take a trigger
the transcripts of these degenerate discussions need to be public domain.
The Google search doesn't show shit when i just checked, for foley, and
dems need to getstawork about that. A google search should number 1 on
the dialogs that that republican put on the internet, with his "maf54"
replaced with <republican congressman>. James carville used to do a job,
who does that job now? Shouldn't the democrats have, even on non-presidential
years, a nationwide campaign director? Like in the film, "war room", the
epople knew how to convert on a free electoral gift like this.

43. Hang On...We're Just Getting Rolling
Look how this story has played out. The first emails were the borderline and came out Thursday night. Next thing Foley quickly folds tent and cuts and runs. That just opened the door...especially when the next batch of emails came out. Now this is less than 36 hours from when I'm typing this. As always, the rumors go around the world while the truth puts its pants on.

Unlike Iraq (where the corporate media has a black eye they want us to forget about) and Abramoff that requires too much brainpower for most sheeple to comprehend, this scandal is red meat for all sorts of media and surely will get attention from people who usually don't watch the news. It's a literal goldmine to stand-up comics and water-cooler jokes. It also will fuel a media frenzy as there seems to be more about Mr. Foley's past that is about to come to light. The more scandalous, be assured the corporate media will smell the ratings and it'll get lots of play...it's just too juicy to hold back on. They may try to softpeddle it at first, but as the narrative and the trial by media really gets rolling there'll be no way for the Repugnicans to spin this.

Also, now that one rat's been dragged out of the closet, how many others will follow? I can think of several other Repugnicans who have had their sexuality questioned. While Democrats are tolerant of one's orientation, that sure isn't how it is in the parallel universe.

Also how many other Repugnicans have some deviant behavior? I just saw a commercial in an east coast race where the Repugnican incumbent has been accused of choking someone...this Foley story is sure to have an impact on that race. Also, if Hastert and the GOOP leadership covered up this abuse of pages, how many others have been reported and stonewalled? How many other ethic violations of members have occured that have been covered up?

Stay tuned...this is gonna be a lot more fun to watch than another boooosh "Democrats are traitors" diatribe. The Repugnicans are on the defensive at a critical time in the election cycle...it sure feels good to watch them hang out to dry.

Congress Tries to Break Logjam of Bills

By CARL HULSE

WASHINGTON, Sept. 29 — Congress approved a major Pentagon spending bill today along with a stop-gap measure to keep the rest of the government running through the elections, as lawmakers also tried to dispose of border-control and abortion legislation before heading home to campaign.

On a 100-to-0 vote, the Senate passed and sent to President Bush a $447.6 billion bill for the Defense Department, including $70 billion for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan — a sum that will bring the total spent on those wars and other military operations to more than $500 billion. The House also approved $34.8 billion in homeland security spending, and the Senate was expected to follow suit later tonight.
