Reagan brought down the Evil Empire so that his party could become
the purveyor of Empire (capital E), gulags, torture, and tyranny. Now that's a talking point! Deflate the myth, and print the truth for a change.

2. Reagan didn't want competition.

Regarding George W Bush and Saddam Hussein, perhaps
Bush viewed him as a rival. It seems that Bush has
set out to establish himself as more of a sociopath
than Hussein.

No more than Sears & Roebucks catalog did...It was not Reagan that made those people wish for the things the rest of the world enjoyed.
