Prince Bandar Told Bush He Would Ease Oil Prices before Election
<snip>

In a claim that could fuel conspiracy theories about the recent oil price decline – in an interview to be broadcast on CBS on Sunday – Mr Woodward described a conversation between Prince Bandar bin Sultan and Mr Bush in which the former Saudi ambassador said he could ease oil prices ahead of the elections.

"They could go down very quickly. That's the Saudi pledge. Certainly over the summer, or as we get closer to the election, they could increase production several million barrels a day," Mr Woodward said.

1. It's not a conspiracy...it's called foreign meddling in another nation's
affairs and considering 19 of the hijackers came from Saudi Arabia and Bin Laden wanted and got the US out of Saudi Arabia, the only just thing we can do is get rid of the cabals here and in Riyad, Saudi Arabia that are working blatantly hand in hand.

3. And he will raise them right back up after the election.
Which is why the Feds may not lower rates early next year.

4. Oldie
Not to diminish the significance of this revelation, but this information is quite old and appears to refer to the '04 elections, not the '06 ones.

6. This is supposed to be in the Woodward 60 Minutes Interview

this Sunday 10/1/06. So don't dismiss it as old news. Check the date on the news article I posted in OP.

Now maybe Woodward is repeating the story in his other book and it does refer to '04 - but why wouldn't Bandar Bush do this again as a favor to Bush and the Repukes? After all Rove likes to trot out whatever works in the last election. Sometimes I feel like it's Groundhog Day.
