Question: What if some kid came forward with improper IMs from a Democrat
and it was all a frame-up?

I believe the boy, but WHAT PROOF (other than Foley's resignation) do we have that these messages came from Foley?

Is it enough proof to just "copy and paste" an Instant Message conversation?

1. If a Dem did this, he too should resign. No one gets a pass.
And I don't believe for a second that these 'conversations' would be used on CNN, MSNBC, etc., unless they were quite sure of the validity.

2. If he denied it passionately, I might consider that it was a frame up.

I suspect he resigned without a fight because there is *more evidence* out there.

On edit: Democrat or not; I don't care. Of course... this does lend a little more credence to the theory that Republicans have "sexual issues."

3. Immediate resignation equals GUILT
If it is a frame up, that is illegal. It should be investigated and indictments should be handed down, IMO.

6. It was no secret...

evidently it was known by the Repuke leadership and they kept it under wraps. This is no hoax.

4. The problem is getting the FIRST to come forward
That what happened here. Once one made the papers, the others that were afraid to say anything came out.

7. his resignation speaks for itself. plenty more to come..
he's using his prestige to deflect possible indictment. Hope the media hounds this like Monicagate.

5. We have no proof until a court makes that decision
Even then, it's still not "proof" in a scientific or mathematical sense, though it might be.

As much as I love seeing Repukes, esp. hypocritical 'family values' repukes, go down in flames for pedophilia, I still believe in innocent until proven guilty.

Although I would say that his resignation is a pretty good sign - I don't think he (or anyone) would resign merely because of an accusation; I believe he resigned because he knows he's guilty, and he's trying to minimize the damage.

8. Remember Gary Condit
After his intern Chandra Levy mysteriously disappeared, he fought the insinuation that he'd had her killed. Nevertheless, the "liberal" media and the Repukes, fed on a steady diet of political potboilers, kept it up. Rep. Condit lost his re-election bid. Ms. Levy's body was found a year later, rolled down a hill off of a jogging path in Rock Creek Park. A guy that was attacking women in the area admitted attacking her when he was caught. Condit had NOTHING to do with her death.

If Foley was fighting this tooth and nail, the way that Condit did, I'd consider that it was a frame-up. But the fact that he resigned so quickly tells me that he's guilty.

From Foleys resignation statement..

"I am deeply sorry and I apologize for letting down my family and the people of Florida I have had the privilege to represent."

Yep. Sounds just like someone who is totally innocent and was framed.

Yawn

11. Yes but
what if someone cut & pasted that, too? What if there really wasn't an underaged kid, but rather there was just a cut & pasted page?

12. It was just a cut and paste kid..

Bill Clinton cut it out and pasted it into Foleys IM.

Just sayin!
