Yes, I woke up feeling despondent. I pasted the US Constitution on my office door with "R.I.P 9/28/06" etc. I quoted James Madison, etc. I even mentioned it to my class in an offhand way to gauge their reaction...

But....

Woodward's attempt to redeem himself
Abramoff scandal-- the gift that keeps on giving
Allen slow demise
Foley's Fall

Remember this folks-- remember we have the truth, honor, and humanity on our side.

We will perservere.

We shall overcome.

:)

1. After yesterday's huge letdown, today's been a good day.
I will hold the feeling close for the fight ahead.

2. The "good" days keep me going
As the Repukes swim, and drown, in their own slime, I feel better. But I also know it will take 20 years to just get this nation back to where it was when Bill Clinton turned over the reins.

4. Too very true... generations have been created who will
distrust, dislike, or outright despise our country, and more importantly us as people.

PEW polls along with others have shown consistently over the last few years that world opinion of the US has gone down-- the important caveat being that it is not only our policies that are not liked and/or hated, but the U.S. citizenry who is now beginning to bear the brunt of this hatred.

One stolen (s)election is one thing...but 2002, 2004... folks in the world no longer give the US citizenry the benefit of the doubt.

6. That is the issue-the rightful generational hate we have engendered
rather our leaders foolish policies have. I would not expect the victims of those policies, more truthfully the tangibilities which are the cutting edges of those policies that those peoples feel, to discern the difference. Their culture demands retribution and they are exceeding patient. While the oligarchs remain safe in their bunkers, it is the populace that shall pay the price for this madness.

3. Woodward is a weasel -- and it is Rumsfeld who is the "bad guy". . .
. . . the bushkid just made the mistake of being too loyal. . . And isn't loyalty a wonderful thing?
