We are definitely through the looking glass now

The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all.
John F. Kennedy

The above quote pretty much describes what I think started the ball
rolling into the great big shitpit we've got now.

It's another one of those days... you know the kind.
God knows we've certainly had enough of them since Bush took office.

Every few months it seems like the Bush administration gets away with
something else that is unbelievably bad for this country.
This torture bill is just the latest in a long line of fuck ups
causing us to slip further down this slippery slope where we lose
what America was meant to be.

I shudder to think what else he can whip out of his ass.
Aren't you beginning to wonder if he'll really ever leave office?
So much that he has done seemed unimaginable before it happened.
And yet here we sit... in a world where civil liberties mean nothing-
where politicians a-ok the use of torture.

I am REALLY starting to feel that he and his cronies will find some way
to keep him in charge.
You can say I'm spreading gloom and doom~ and I would say that I hope your right.
The thing is, Bushco is working overtime to create a dictatorship.
Democracy is out- Hitler is in.

How much longer will D.U. even be available to us?
By posting or even reading here, aren't we dissenters in their books?
V for Vendetta and 1984 don't seem too far off the mark right now, do they?

We've polled and canvassed, voted and read. We're all knowledgeable and well informed.
Polling has told us time and again that people disagree with Bush and his policies.
Polling told us John Kerry would be President.
Reality has taught us that all of the above meant nothing, because
everything can be bought, "fixed" or broken irrevocably.

As Buscho become more and more blatant about the laws they
are breaking and the constitutional amendments they will do away with
all I can think is, "How much more?" They aren't even really trying to HIDE
their crimes anymore- because they truly believe they are untouchable.

Seriously. At what point do we all start relocating for fear that we will end up in
prisons for daring to speak out against our leader?

With every step we try to believe that THIS TIME he will be forced
to face the consequences. And every time, not only does he get off- HE THEN
TURNS AROUND AND MAKES THINGS EVEN WORSE.

It feels like were fighting a losing battle.
How much more? WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?

Aggression unopposed becomes a contagious disease.

JIMMY CARTER
