The October Surprise is a done deal. Please read.
We have a new Bob Woodward book and a new Al Qaeda tape.

And, what do you know: They both hit the CM on the same day.

And, what do you know: They both say the exact same thing.

The touted theme of both publications is, “Your president is lying to you about Iraq!”

Good for us? Hell no.

Here’s how it works:

First, Bob Woodward tells a truth.
Second, Dems start echoing that truth and get huge media attention.
Third, “Al Qaeda” conveniently echoes that truth to similar media attention.
Fourth, Pukes accuse Dems of echoing Al Qaeda.

This is a win-win for the Pukes. If the Dems don’t speak up, they surrender their most powerful tool (Iraq). But if they do speak up, they are Al Qaeda. Simple strategy. Subtle, but brutal beyond comprehension.

Bush seemed to open the door to this strategy yesterday. I don’t have the quote handy.

Now, most of you know Bob Woodward has been working the crowd for Bush. And perhaps a large number of you have figured out that there’s something fishy about the timing of all of the Al Qaeda tapes. All I’m asking you to do is put the two together. Is it really so far fetched?

Woodward can help Bush by attacking him. And, at the same time, he looks like he’s still that hard-hitting reporter whom Americans remember from that Watergate thing. Just the facts and nothing but the facts. What integrity! What a standup guy!

At around 3PM eastern, I saw CNN bang the hell out of the new Bob Woodward book. It said Bush was lying about Iraq. Guess what happened immediately after that. Boom! New Al Qaeda tape. It said Bush was lying about Iraq. I suspect there are more tapes to come.

I have no fucking idea how to counter this strategy, but please, just a few of you, humor me and tell me you get it. It might get me to shut the fuck up for a while.

I didn't throw Woodward into the mix, but this is my post from earlier. You're not the only one thinking this way.

19. The American Public has been shit-scared into Stockholm Syndrome
And for most of them, recognizing what they had done, what they had allowed to happen, israpidly becoming as big a self condemnation as the Germans who supported the Nazis in the 30s.

That buys a kind of denial most people cannot fathom.

How awful to realize what you'd done after all the torture, murder and lies. Most people don't have the self-awareness to do that, to even recognie the wave of denial for what it is.

Self-protection by the ego, the id.

And like those Germans, they are going to ride this thing to the bitter, corrupt, murderous end rather than wake to what THEY are responsible for (and us, too, even those at DU, carry our share for the responsibility).

If you want to buy a DVD of the new speech, you can probably buy a copy for $39.99 at this U.S. Government Contractor site by now: <http://www.intelcenter.com/audio-video/qaeda.html>

They usually have the videos on there site and ready for sale the same day as it hits "terrorist websites." Funny, huh?

How very interesting that Al Qaeda and Woodward are on the same page, of the same mind, etc.

I also think the comment below by Nikki Stone is good; use other sources to support our points.

...now that the election is over the time has come for me to step down as secretary of state and return to private life. I, therefore, resign as the 65th secretary of state, effective at your pleasure.

"That didn't happen," the senior official said. But the official also said Powell "never asked to stay and was never asked to leave."

By someone. Not sure who.

A group whose only wish was for us to die 6 years ago does not suddenly turn around tand start caring about President Bush being bad for democracy. Either Al Qaeda is playing us to the advantage of right wingers in hopes of starting WWIII, or the tapes are being faked. It's that simple.

Here's what I had to say, as an aside, yesterday while listening to the radio talk about how the word "Homeland" was coined by the Germans:
