Foley resigns. Freepers blame... democrats!!!
I agree with you.
Then the question becomes: When did the Democrats know about this? If Foley is a child predator and the Democrats found out and sat on it until it benefitted them politically, then how many children did they put at risk for their political gain?

42. These freepers only care about losing power.
That's what they care about. They don't care about one of their own found out a predator.

They're going to eventually lose their $200 tax cuts and their leaders will lose their $85,000 tax cuts.

11. If
the key word is if. If his statement isn't true then what a complete tool he is. Hey let's play the if game. If republicans knew about this child predator and not only didn't do anything but helped elect him by giving him tons of money and their votes, then how many children did they put at risk? When did republicans know about this... immediately he's a republican and he knew he was a child predator and he hid that fact for political gain! Wow I don't even need the magic if.

24. This list was posted at DU, but there is no documentation.
UNVERIFIED -- all of the below is lifted from a DU thread. They forgot Spokane former mayor West though, recalled for offering municipal favors (jobs etc), apparently, to underage males, and gay chat room stuff.

seen at DU on 4-5-06.

Breaking: Homeland Security official arrested.
Brian J. Doyle, DHS Deputy Press Secretary, has been “charged with trying to ’seduce’ a 14-year-old…girl <http://www.theledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060404/BREAKING/60404013> over the Internet.”
UPDATE: Further details here <http://www.tampabays10.com/news/news.aspx?storyid=28229>: “On many occasions, Doyle instructed the victim, whom he believed to be a 14-year-old girl, to perform a sexual act while thinking of him, and described explicit and perverse sexual acts he wished to have with her, in addition to sending her numerous obscene .mpg files (digital movies). … He attempted to seduce the girl during their online chats, encouraging her to purchase a web cam so that she could send graphic images of herself to him.” April 4, 2006 10:15 pm | Comment <http://thinkprogress.org/2006/04/04/homeland-security-official-arrested/> (148)

Unfortunately the number of ‘pedophiles’ and ‘pervert predators’ who are republican is disproportionately large. It doesn’t matter if it’s the Mayor of Spokane, or the republican head of the anti-gay initiative at the Boy Scouts who turned out to be into kiddie porn. When you go digging in the closets of republicans, there’s a reason the ‘claim’ to be anti-gay and anti-pedophiles with such a vengeance. Because so many of their own are both, and they revile themselves.

Here’s a list compiled from:

This list was assembled collaboratively by several different DUers, back when Demopedia was still active: http://demopedia.democraticunderground.com/index.php/Republican_Values

I haven't compared this list with the others posted here. The Demopedia list hasn't been updated in more than a year, so Foley and other recent additions to the Hall of Shame aren't included.

As to "how many children the Ds (hypothetically) put at risk," I'd say it was definitely fewer than this one R actually put at risk. (Assuming the truth here is what it seems to be...)

After all, everyone knows that Democrats have been seducing children with liberal lies, then using these innocent pawns to, in turn, seduce powerful and influencial Republicans. And didn't you know? That program was started by none other than Bill Clinton and his best bud, Osama bin Laden. Foley is just an innocent victim of Democratic entrapment.
