Al-Qaida No. 2 Calls Bush a Liar

CAIRO, Egypt -- Al-Qaida No. 2 Ayman al-Zawahri condemned President Bush in a video statement released Friday, calling him a failure and a liar.

"Why don't you tell them how many million citizens of America and its allies you intend to kill in search of the imaginary victory and in breathless pursuit of the mirage towards which you are driving your people's sons in order increase your profits?" al-Zawahri said in a portion of the video released by the Virginia-based IntelCenter.

The video was the latest to come from al-Zawahri since earlier this month. Al-Qaida released a string of videos for the anniversary of Sept. 11, showing increasingly sophisticated production techniques in a likely effort to demonstrate that it remains a powerful, confident force despite the U.S.-led war on terror.

Bush Says War Critics Embrace Propaganda

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush asserted Friday that critics who claim the Iraq war has made America less safe embrace "the enemy's propaganda." He acknowledged setbacks in Afghanistan against a Taliban resurgence but predicted eventual victory.

"You do not create terrorism by fighting terrorism," he told a receptive military audience. "If that ever becomes the mind-set of the policymakers in Washington, it means we'll go back to the old days of waiting to be attacked - and then respond."

1. OK; not a tin-foil hat, but a steel hat for this.
If I didn't know better, I'd say Al Qaeda is working in tandem with our government and that Al Zwahiri's statement was written by Rove and released today in order to make those of us who are critical of Bush look like we agree with terrorists.

You know, after the past couple of days, I almost believe anything.
