Do not buy GM cars
General Motors has hired Sean Hannity to be the lead spokesman for a car giveaway campaign called “You’re a Great American.“

1. And don't say "I'll get a Toyota (or Saab) instead."
Pontiac Vibe = Toyota Matrix

Saabs are just mid-level GM's.

Just sayin.

2. Also, GM wants to make more Hummers!
That's it! That's the breakthrough they've needed! More Hummers! <SARCASM OFF>

Seriously, GM is run by a bunch of losers. Look at the price of oil. Why the HELL would they make a car that no one will buy?
:wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf:

Toyota and Honda make very good cars!

3. Just one more reason not to buy a GM...
Still, the Toyota Matrix is on my list of possible next vehicle... The Pontiac Vibe may be the same vehicle, but a Vibe is a Martix with different badging and body panels. The Matrix is the original item.

4. I have driven Toyotas for the past 12 years -- trouble free.
I will never buy anything but a Toyota.

6. Same here
I'm hooked on them.

If Toyota hires some rightwing bastard as its spokesman, I'll be faced with a moral dilemma. In the meantime, everything's fine.

9. I drove a Ford Ranger until it was old enough to VOTE
and I didn't have much trouble with it until the last year.

I've got a Korean econobox now, the best compromise I could find for efficiency and cargo room.

I hated GM cars. I drove battered VWs, battered Subarus, battered anything but GM, got burned two of their cars early on.

10. Okay, but since all politics is local ...
The nearest Chevrolet dealer and his family are big donors and activists for progressive causes and the nearest Toyota dealer is funding a Repuke run against a good Democrat.

So, I should buy a Toyota! Thank you, but no...

They're FAR superior cars.

17. And punish the local chevy dealer who is a progressive and donates to
progressive causes? WTG! Not to mention all those people who are dependent on that dealership for they're livelihood. Who the hell cares about them, just because GM hired a moran for a ad campaign for a short period of time, they should suffer financially?

18. No, I don't buy a car to do a favor to anyone.
I buy cars that are well built, get good mileage, handle well and LAST.

GM fails on all counts, IMHO.

But your mileage, if you'll excuse the saying, may vary.

20. Nice black and white solution to a fairly grey problem ...
The nearest Toyota dealer is fifty miles and the next nearest is seventy, meaning that is not very workable. And by the way my '88 S-10 pickup has 225,000 miles without a wrench on the driveline. And I paid $4000 for it 8 years and 150,000 miles ago. So by my math a brand new toyota truck would have to be trouble free for 40 years and 750,000 to be the same value and that is if I could get someone to sell me one for $20K.

Next time I'm in the market for a pickup truck, maybe I'll reconsider.

21. If they have a used car lot, buy used
Used car profits do not go to GM, they go to the dealer. So you can support the dealer without supporting GM.

26. I suggest buying the car that you want
You're going to have the vehicle for 4 or 5 years, why get something that you don't like?

If you like that Chevrolet Cobalt, more power to you. Sales people have zero input in national campaigns. They're just trying to sell cars and make some money. And of the people I personally know that sell cars, the majority of them are democrats.

I've had horrible luck with them in the past and would never buy one again. Especically with this disgusting news. :puke:

25. Damn, I was planning on getting a Saab in a couple months
But I always thought they were pretty "liberal" cars, like Subarus, Hyundais, and VWs. Conservatives seem to like Hummers, Toyotas (the big ones at least), Chevys, Fords, you know, the "big car, small penis" vehicles.

A bad decision by the marketing department is not a good reason to punish all those union workers. Get a grip.
