It only works so long as the Congress and the Judiciary perform their duties. We now have a one party system of government, and that party is only interested in holding on to power. As we've known for the last 5 years the Republican party has had very little to no interest in upholding their oaths to the US Constitution.

Bush didn't find ways to skirt the laws, he found many willing participants who changed the laws for him, unfortunately some of those were Democrats!

And let's not forget the SCOTUS who started this downhill slide back in 2000.

Do you think the GOP and their supporters actually care about our troops? It will just give them more reasons to launch attacks on other countries, until the world unites against us and does to us what the allies did to Japan and Germany.

Actually I think our consitution was actually created to welcome guys like Bush. It was deliberately designed(through the use of the electoral college, and other instituions) to work to benefit the upper class, white land owners.
