What happened to Jose Padilla, Yaser Ramdi and John Walker Lindh?
Aren't they Americans? Didn't they get locked up for a few years with no charges, no lawyers and no rights?

1. They did, and there were lawsuits about it
forcing the administration to charge them and try them.

That's why Congress passed this unconstitutional bullshit law.

2. They're so afraid of putting terrorists on trial...
makes you wonder, you know.

3. I think John Walker has been sentenced to 20 years if I remember
right. He had a pretty speedy trial.

I think that Padilla was getting ready for a SC hearing and the government changed his charges or did something that took it out of the courts.

Ramdi, I can't answer.

4. So why is bush and the repugs afraid...
of putting these people on trial for the world to see?

It seems to me, that if they were truly serious about fighting terrorism and getting those terrorists, they'd put them on trial and put them away if they're found guilty.

 I just don't get it.

6. Padilla could walk! Doubt he will though.

Some of the key charges the feds had against Padilla have been thrown out by a federal judge. The ones that remain are murky and nebulous at best. Right now Federal prosecutors are just playing for time to keep Padilla incarcerated. There is a possibility, I don't think a very big one, that Padilla could walk. The Justice Dept.
will find something that sticks.
Think of it though, after all the fear mongering, misrepresentation, misinformation, and outright lies that surrounded Padilla the probability, however remote, that he could walk away a free man. That would be a huge slap in the face to BushCo.
My own personal opinion is that Padilla will cop a plea, but it will be a far cry from what the Feds originally
wanted.
