National Security Threat: The Internet
Isn't this what's next?

They've been busy lobotomizing the public with dozens of network shows regarding "internet predators" and the like. That's how they are going to explain how we were all in favor of it.

Believe me, this is what they want to take down, or control content at minimum,
The biggest threat to their continued hold on power is our ability to communicate.

1. thats why a while back I asked if anyone knew how people
communicated when this happened in their country? What creative ways did they get the message out? I wasn't kidding then, and I'm not now.

2. That's how they are going to explain how we were all in favor of it
very astute phrase. has lots of applications. we are constantly being explained to how 'we are in favor of' unpopular policy. or election results that don't match exit polls.

4. So true....WHY do we believe any of the (GOP owned) polls
I believe polls (or what is put out there as the result of supposed polls) serve only as a means of keeping us from revolting.. They have us question our own beliefs that the majority of people in this country are not in favor of any of this.

11. OH YES!! As long as the internet did not have any influence on politics, c
anything could go on the internets.

Now that the internet is proven to be a threat to politics, there will be clamping down on it. It will all be put in acceptable terms - but censored until it will no longer be of any REAL use.

I wonder if the powers tht be will let DU still exist.

12. The "Net Neutrality" issues is exactly that, but no one will say it.
Everyone seems too timid to just explain things for what they are.

The "net neutrality" issue is all about this.

13. Yep, I was going to say something like this
They won't have to censor, outright, they'll kill it via the telecom bill. They'll make it too expensive for small content providers (read not International Meganewscorp or Microsoft or similar) to get a good spot in the queue for bandwidth. The bloggers, etc, will be at the back of the bus. Expect to wait 15-20 minutes for this site just to load up, or get timed out in the process.
