Deaths from terrorist incidents declined into 2002 and declined further into 2003. Then, after "Mission Accomplished" aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln on May 1 2003, the US "cakewalk" in Iraq became the best possible recruiting tool for international terrorists.

Deaths from terrorism in 2004 were triple what they were in 2003, and the same measure rose sevenfold, on tip of that tripling, into 2005. What would be Dubya's explanation for these trends, had he not tried so hard to make sure nobody outside the WH ever saw them?
