Let us put aside pre-WWII as "a galaxy far, far away."

But let us remember that McCarthy seemed unstoppable - until Welch declared before the world, "have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?"

Let us remember that Nixon seemed unstoppable - until Deep Throat told Woodward, "follow the money."

And perhaps, just perhaps, in years to come we will look back and say

Bush seemed unstoppable - until Olbermann said, "The "free pass" has been withdrawn, Mr. Bush…You did not act to prevent 9/11...You have failed us ...And now you exploit your failure, to rationalize brazen torture ....And there it is, sir: Are yours the actions of a true American?"

If these words echo, then there is hope.
