Bob Woodward's "State of Denial:" classify the truth coming out of Iraq,
Edited on Fri Sep-29-06 06:10 AM by wordpix
Rice-Rummy not speaking, don't use word, "insurgency," keep Iraq disaster secret by classifying the reports, ignore the military leaders calling for more US troops to stem the insurgency since Sept. 2003.

Woodward is getting back to his Watergate roots. Get ready for the smearing of Woodward from the right.

Woodward is starting the talk show rounds. Book comes out Monday. Very timely for elections.

1. I have a theory about Bob...
I think he became enamored with the neocon gang after 9/11 (as many inside the beltway were), but has since realized just how BAD this administration is for the US. 9/11 was a major-league mindfuck for a lot of people...

3. I don't know. I'd like to think he had a true change of heart but
I think he's put his finger in the wind and decided it was time to jump ship as it was sinking. Better for him to make this huge splash. I doubt if it will change many votes, however. The RW media has the upper hand because it hammers the talking points all day every day and voters are brainwashed.

Sorry, I down now because of what is happening to Ned Lamont. I just can't see any bright sides to this election (even tho I know there will be some important gains across the rest of the country.)

4. I heard Lauer and Russert talking about the coming smear from the
right. Russert said it's, of course, coming, but the said it won't be easy to make the label stick because of the other books Woodward wrote and how the WH took him under their wing after he wrote them.
