September 28, 2006, was a very dark day for America.

I never thought I would see a day such as this. On the surface, it
seemed a day like any other. In a way that makes it even worse because
today was not like any other. History will not remember this day as any other.

Our moral compass is broken. We now condone the torture of others. We can now be
detained and tortured indefinitely. We can be incarcerated without charge. We can be
swept up in the middle of the night. The freedoms our ancestors fought and died for
are now null and void.

The Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights are items from our past.
On September 28, 2006, the United States of America suffered a fatal blow. While the new country may resemble and seem very much like its predecessor; Don't be fooled! The difference may not be apparent immediately.

Yes, a very dark day and the prospect of much darkness in our future.
