I have finally had it with my veterans' board.
I belong to a board of Navy vets -- most of them are freepers except for 2 or 3 of us. They buy into the "for us or against us" idea and that "Dems are weak on defense and national security." I have provided link after link and article after article showing these guys why our country is in sad shape and why Bush is no good for this country.

They never wanted to hear it. They had their minds made up and nothing was going to change it. I posted today about the torture bill and, of course, they told me that it was good for the country, blah blah blah. I went off on a tirade and ended my post with the words, "Fuck George Bush." Well, this sent their heads spinning. I was told I was disrespectful and that I must respect the office of the president. I told them "I don't respect the office and I don't respect Bush, and I stand by what I said."

I was a moderator of this group and I just quit. I also have decided not to take anymore e-mails from this group. It's too bad because there are a couple of good guys on the board that I like. I have had it with trying to convince these guys that we are headed down the shitter and it's Bush's fault.

There are too many other things that need to be done.

2. Perhaps if they are so gung-ho about the AWOL in Chief
Why don't they give a hand to the overworked soldiers and Marines in Afghanistan and Iraq, as matter of fact why don't the ship some of their heterosexual male relatives between 18-42(as Operation Yellow Yellow Elephant would remark)to do some of the sacrifice. You did was right and your conscience is clear, sleep good tonight.:patriot:

3. I've drifted away from my freeper
friends, and built stronger relations with liberals. Needless to say I'm much happier. I've gone through a couple of different of stages since 11/04. First it was severe depression, then hostile anger, now it is letting go of the need to argue reason with freepers. It is only a matter of time before more of them will be bitch slapped by reality, and wake up.

4. Republicans in Congress can't even stand up to bush.
But they think they're strong? LOL.
