Soviet style mass protesting is the only option left
It's clear that no matter how you vote in November, there are still a handful of "D"s that do not represent you or the ideals of every single civilized nation on the planet. The government needs to be overthrown not at the ballot box (which will be rigged anyway), but by a revolution.

Every single man, woman, and child needs to get out on the streets and shut the entire country down until the country comes back to some semblance of what it used to be. With what has happened to the media over the last 10 years or so, this is truly the only option left. The media will not pay attention until the masses force it to.

There is only one tool left for all of us. It's right here: The Internet. This is the last medium we have to organize and execute the greatest revolution in history. We must act now before they take even this away from us.

I am not talking about a one day demonstration. I am not talking about a lame assed "lawful" bullshit protest. It's time to get Soviet Russia on their asses. Get out on the streets of every city in the country and set up camp. We've all seen it happen in other countries. Fuck your jobs and fuck your school work. This is more important.

We need to set a date, we need to get the word out, and we need to stick with it for as long as it takes. Every single person who has any sense of morality has to walk out and stay out until this president resigns and an immediate election (where the votes are counted ON PAPER) is called.

Say it with me now!
REVOLUTION

2. And what did 'Soviet style mass protesting' yield for the Russian people?
More dictatorship.

The reason that the Diebold Congress is passing fascist legislation is that they were (s)elected by Diebold and its brethren, ES&S, two rightwing Bushite corportions that now control all vote tabulation using TRADE SECRET, PROPRIETARY programming code, with virtually no audit/recount controls. It's a no-brainer, really. 63% of the American people oppose torture "under any circumstances." But the American people have lost their right to vote. These (s)elections are egregiously non-transparent and unverifiable.

And the remedy is not 'Soviet style mass protesting'--which I'm sure the Fascist Cabal would love to blow away with their new microwave weapon that fries you from the inside. The remedy is NOT to vote on the rigged machines!

See my post on the Absentee Ballot Protest, "What do you expect from the Diebold Congress?", at
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x2851762

It's easy. Everybody can do it. And if enough people vote by AB--if everyone who despises the Bush Junta (60% to 70% of the American people)--votes by AB--the reign of these diabolical machines will be OVER!

3. I'd prefer the Gandhian example of non-violent passive resistance
I think it's much more effective and less messy than the other.
The principles are easy to follow and not objectionable, they are:

Non-Violent, non-cooperation; peaceful demonstration, fasting and prayer.
--think of it as a Sabbath, no work, study, driving, shopping..TV!

The philosophy of nonviolent resistance most famously employed by Mohandas Gandhi is called Satya-graha.

Satya is Sanskrit for Truth, and Agraha, roughly, effort.

Satya - truth; implying openness, honesty, and fairness.
Ahimsa - refusal to inflict injury upon others.
Tapasya - willingness for self-sacrifice.

Gandhi noted:
"In the application of Satyagraha, I discovered, in the earliest stages, that pursuit of Truth did not admit of violence being inflicted on one's opponent, but that he must be weaned from error by patience and sympathy. For, what appears to be truth to the one may appear to be error to the other. And patience means self-suffering. So the doctrine came to mean vindication of Truth, not by infliction of suffering on the opponent but one's own self. Satyagraha and its off-shoots, non-co-operation and civil resistance, are nothing but new names for the law of suffering.

With satya combined with ahimsa, you can bring the world to your feet.

Satyagraha in its essence is nothing but the introduction of truth and gentleness in the political, i.e., the national life.
Satyagraha is utter self-effacement, greatest humiliation, greatest patience and brightest faith. It is its own reward.
Satyagraha is a relentless search for truth and a determination to reach truth.

It is a force that works silently and apparently slowly. In reality, there is no force in the world that is so direct or so swift in working.

Satyagraha literally means insistence on truth. This insistence arms the votary with matchless power. This power or force is connoted by the word satyagraha. Satyagraha, to be genuine, may be offered against parents, against one's wife or one's children, against rulers, against fellow-citizens, even against the whole world.
Such a universal force necessarily makes no distinction between kinsmen and strangers, young and old, man and woman, friend and foe. The force to be so applied can never be physical. There is in it no room for violence. The only force of universal application can, therefore, be that of ahimsa or love. In other words, it is soul-force.
