7. If all the blue staters suceeded - this country would go belly up.
Most of the people left would be as dumb as dirt.

12. Too bad the Repukes stuck us with Arnold in California.
If we seceeded we would be taking the sixth largest economy in the world with us, something that would give the feds a real sucker punch in the treasury.

13. Working through the party/system
I'll be damned if we jump to a third party or leave the country. The conservatives in the GOP were frustrated several times in the '50s and '60s by the then-dominant northeastern liberal wing of their party, but they still persisted until they took control of the party. We should follow in their footsteps and fight until we control the Democratic Party. We can do this by running progressive candidates in primaries.

16. How? Block by block?
It's not red states versus blue states anymore.

May I remind you of this:

The only way to get my state is to take the mountains and hope we don't starve when the Rethugs on plains and the western slopes blockade us. The only way to take Arizona is to hope that Utah doesn't cut off their water. What about Illinois? Does Chicago secede while leaving the ag counties? How do we defend ourselves? After all, even the most devoted of gun nuts (and I'm not bad on that level) has less firepower and less access to it than the BATF, not to mention the military.

The system is corrupted, but not broken. We take it back by demanding voter-verified elections, getting people TO vote, and making damn sure that those who do get elected serve our interests, not corporatist funders. We need a fairness doctrine back in place so that media must present unbiased accounts of news.
