McCain Torture Compromise Bill Allows Sodomy, Rape of Prisoners
McCain Torture Compromise Bill Allows Sodomy, Rape of Prisoners

Thu Sep 28, 2006

It has always been illegal to rape or sodomize prisoners in U.S. custody, of course. But under the McCain Torture Compromise, as long as you are doing it as "interrogation", the president is now authorized to allow it.

Luckily, the Warner Redefinition of Human Rights Clause allows the president not only to authorize which prisoners will and will not be raped in an attempt to "break them", but will allow the president to refuse all access to evidence or trial to those prisoners. So that'll keep future abuses from coming to light.

Just thought I'd help clarify what the Republican lawmakers on the Senate floor are debating right now, since they don't seem to be in any mood to make those points clear. We're talking about torturing people so that the Senate can have a political floor show, and the supposed moderates of the movement are lapping it up like pups.

Personally, I think if you are going to pass a law that says another man will now be tortured, you should at least have the personal courage to stand up and say plainly what it is you intend to do to him.

NYTimes reports that dems said they wouldn't filibuster if the amendment (that failed) went to a vote. (So, if you let us TRY to fix it, we won't oppose it, even though if we FAIL, the bill will remain a horror).

It is beyond insanity.

But, no "deal" is a "done deal" until the deed is done.

They need to hear our full-throated outrage! Go to http://filibuster4sanity.com">filibuster4sanity.com. Perhaps if we hit them with a big enough http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=cluestick">Cluestick, they'll wake up and say:

"Sorry boys, but we have to filibuster the <b><i>War Criminals Protection Act of 2006 after all</i></b>. If we don't, our constituents will string us up. And, we hadn't really thought it through. We aren't very keen on becoming "Accessory After the Fact" War Criminals."

The ones who vote to pass the <b><i>War Criminals Protection Act of 2006</i></b> will be "Accessory After the Fact" War Criminals themselves and be earning a reserved seat at The Hague, should sanity ever return to our once-great nation.

Unless they wake up, the "dealmakers" are in the same boat.

The whole world is watching and history can be a cruel judge.

There is no fence to sit on here. No compromise position. No way to finesse it. No political calculations.

And so, no forgiving. No forgetting. No getting over it. No fog of war. No statute of limitations.
NO is the ONLY option for a non-monster.

Pass it along!

5. This is going to haunt us soon.
McCain will now burn in hell.

He prepaid then spent his karma, and now is in the red. This man has unique knowledge on just how horrible torture is. He is famous for standing up to it.

For him to now throw his knowledge aside for his presidential ambitions and related coddling of Neocon-Nazis is DISGUSTING, and shows what torture does to you...It turns you into a sociopathic, two-faced, spineless, opportunistic coward.

Burn in hell, McCain.

8. important: need citation to provisions referred to
I've been in a discussion with a repub over whether this bill is as odious as I believe it is. He has pointed me to provisions that expressly define certain acts, including rape, as unlawful. Could someone point me to the section of the Act that allows these acts in the context of an interrogation?
