2. C-SPAN 1
should be online.

They are discussing the whole ball of wax here, internet, wireless communication, etc. Calls it an update of FISA. Howdy Doody is laying it on thick!

6. Pop back over when that vote is over and let me know how
it turns out. We need two sets of eyes and ears today to hear all of the ways they are trying to dismantle our government.

5. Capito is in support - reminds us that we are at war

Fisa should be used, but we can't let that stand in the way of monitoring terrorists communications. Our enemies will not delay their plans while we go to court ...

7. McGovern (MA) wants this rule and this bill shot dead
The repugs are bound and determined to get it passed, as we need to watch everyone to keep everyone safe ... rights be damned.

8. Howdy Doody reminding us about the "plot" in London several
weeks ago. The enemy is still getting up everyday, going to bed everynight, thinking about how they can destroy not just the US, but everyone that thinks as we do in the world.

Legislation that has passed in this country since 9/11 has worked.

Laptops in the ME, cell phones in ME, all can tell who your freinds are, who your stock brokers are ... just as ours do. If we know they are calling someone in the US, we need to move quickly on that number.

Now tell me, how does that need new legislation? FISA covers that and gives them ample time to do what needs to be done to "get on that number", doesn't it?

What a moran!

9. Markey (Ma) said that the President wants to go on a fishing
expedition without getting a license. Good way to put it.

Hastings is calling for the rule and the bill to go down to defeat. Hastings is willing to work on other legislation, but not this bill because it assaults our rights.

September 10th legislation, up to date by making it a September 12th law. :puke:

13. Conyers asking if it has been looked into to see if the provisions
are even legal.

There have been 51 changes to this law since it was passed in 78. This bill grants more and new authority to authorize spying on domestic calls too. Instead of bring the "program" under the law, we have expanded broad "program" to email and cell communications.

Conyers is hitting all the highlights. But will anyone listen?
