70% of American oppose attacking Iran
Well, the good news is that Americans aren't all the way stupid. Sorry, but I've become so discouraged and horrified at how gullible and stupid Americans have become that when I see a poll indicating that we're not entirely lost, it give me just a tad (okay, a very small one) of hope.

http://elections.us.reuters.com/top/news/usnN27288539.html

A majority of Americans want the United States to increase diplomatic efforts over Iran's nuclear ambitions, while 70 percent oppose the use of U.S. troops to thwart Iran, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Thursday.

Asked the best course of action for the United States in dealing with Iran's nuclear ambitions, 45 percent said Washington should join with allies to increase diplomatic efforts and another 17 percent said the United States should step up diplomacy on its own.

One in four respondents, 26 percent, said they supported the use of U.S. ground troops in Iran, while 70 percent opposed it. Nine percent favored air strikes on selected military targets in Iran.

(Okay, then we get a little more stupid......)

The Reuters/Zogby poll found 42 percent supported a strike on Iranian facilities if carried out by the Israeli military, with 47 percent opposed.

1. That's Still Not A Majority
The 30% are in control now. Didn't you get the memo?

Polls are irrelevant anyways. That's so 90's.

4. I just figure....
that maybe I won't be so alone in the gulag. If the 30% is what's left after the round up the 70% that disagree with the Nazi regime, I want to be in the gulag with the sane people.

Sorry....this is a really bad day. My Pollyanna attitude will return in an hour or two after I kick my own ass.

3. You know, I don't think "the majority" matters anymore.
"We the people" are of no consequence to Bushco. After reading that Bush said he'd stay in Iraq if it was only Laura and Barney supporting him - it really sunk in. If for some reason "we the people" decide we've had enough of the warmongering and take to the streets, all The Decider has to do is declare martial law, arrest us all as enemy combatants and put us in detention centers where we'll rot forever without legal recourse. Think those who didn't get detained will rescue us or try to stop them?

is going to do it anyway. With the Eisenhower on its way, laden down with cruise missiles, its going to happen on or near November 7th.
