I have never heard worse pronunciation of commonly used words, than I have lately on CNN..
This AM on the weather segment the poor weatherbunny kept trying to say "conductivity", and it kept coming out as conductactivity

Kyra cannot say dep-yoo-tee..

I think a simple pronunciation test should be the norm before letting these dolts talk on the air..

Anderson's another one.. If I hear him say "Briddin" instead of britain...one more time.. I'll pull that last hair off my head :)

1. Care for a real ear piercer? Listen to Secy of Education Spellings.
There's the standard lazy tongued crap:
gunna
wudda
shudda
goin
me n you

and the non-existent contraction:
there're

The amazing thing is that this marginally English-fluent person was bitching about the quality of college education at the time. Unreal.

3. "Interim" and "intern" seem to be interbred in some newscasters'
minds, also -- hearing about "an interm report" always pulls me up short.

5. This is just another reason to admire Keith Olbermann.
He is articulate and uses an extensive vocabulary, oh...and principled, he is quite principled. We can't forget that part. He makes Tweety look like an immature kid, and everyone else except perhaps Jack Cafferty look like shallow twits. He even surpasses Lou Dobbs. And Lou thinks he has the corner on the gravitas market. Not that I don't appreciate Lou's stand on the middle class, working class America, out sourcing jobs, border insecurity and his disdain for this current resident in the White House.
