We need to put Wedges in the Wedge Issues
Let's face it, the Republicans are good with the wedge issues. We need to strike back and hit the wedge issues themselves.

Here's one:

Attacking the Pro-Life/Pro-Choice Debate - Attack the Republican Definition of what it means to be Pro-Life, expand the debate beyond Abortion and Euthanasia.
For Example: "I'm Pro-Life because I believe that everybody should have access to quality health care and that our children have the right to live in a good environment."

1. I think we've been trying that
I know I've heard that formulation before, at any rate. I don't know why it doesn't get more traction - I suppose the comeback is something along the lines of "it's great that you want to help people who have alerady been born who can defend themselves, but why not defend those who can't dfend themsleves - the very old and the unborn."

That's a bullshit response, of course, but it is an obvious one.

2. My response to that
"In today's world of ultra-corporations and where 90% of the wealth is controlled by 10% of the population, are the poor really that much stronger than the unborn?"

3. I could continue this
"As you can see the Democrats don't trust the people - they don't think, you, the American people have any mroe power than an unborn child."

6. Is this about trust or power?
The People do have lots of power, I'm just not advocating anything that would get us all thrown in jail.

8. That's not a great response, although I see what you mean
Obviously any politician who even hinted at revolution (even by negation, as you did), would have some interesting stories written about him or her.

The difference betweeen having an actual debate and a political debate.

7. Every child is someone's choice...
why shouldn't it be the mothers?

Forcing a woman to produce a child, is in principle, no different than forcing her to have sexual intercourse until she is pregnant.
