Nope. Nobody in the U.S. agrees with Hugo Chavez. Uh uh.
I know it's a small thing but I have a Cafe Press shop. It makes between $0 and $5, in a good month. I don't really promote the shop, except in my DU sig line, and I spend way more time than its worth just tweeking my little designs. The shop is more for my fun than for anything else.

But in the week since President Chavez made his speech to the U.N., I've sold eight "Viva Venezuela! Viva Chavez!" t-shirts. And out of the eight, five customers got to my shop through the "front door" at Cafe Press, meaning they found it on their own rather than through my sig line.

Like I said, it's a small thing, but these t-shirt sales are sort of a barometer. In my opinion, where people choose to spend their money is more telling than a poll, which can ask a slanted question or skew the results. Money (even the tiny amount spent on those t-shirts) talks and bullshit walks.

14. how about a "Hugo's Book Club" design?
With a pic of him holding the Chomsky book?

Or a spoof of the "Oprah's Book Club" logo, with a big "H" instead of an "O"?

3. the largest sign in Boston is a Citgo sign
This is a huge animated neon sign over Kenmore Square that has been there since the 50s (I think). It has been declared a historic landmark, so it can't be torn down. You can see it from a very long way away.

Naturally, this makes some Republicans unhappy.
