Specter is actually speaking out AGAINST this bill. Go, Arlen.
Very eloquently addressing the RULE OF LAW, and the absolute need to have a judicial branch oversee our laws, not one person.

2. Pfft! He's a paper tiger
$10 says he votes for this bill in the end, just like he always caves to the Republican right wing.

4. Quite the orator, isn't he?
He does like to hear himself drone on and on.....in the end, it doesn't matter. He always goes with his masters.

16. I'm not watching
I'll just read the box score later and get pissed off then. All their pretty words don't mean much.

3. No, I don't trust him at all.
But he isn't even talking about the torture, his focus is on LAW, and historical precedent. From what I hear, he has said he intends to "do what he can" to stop the bill. Maybe that's just standing up and yakking. But listen to what he is saying. He is talking about specific provisions of LAW, and is doing it quite well.

I'll give him credit for that.

12. Yes, he said he'd do whatever George wants him to do.
Actually, I just made that up, but I'd say it's a safe assumption.

20. I suppose so.
Still it would nice if he could bring the same stern moral tone and outrage to the issue of the US torturing prisoners that he bought to violence in video games, dirty words in music and breasts in movies.

15. No, but Specter does have a respect for the law.
It is his forte, and he is arguing legalities, which is refreshing...a republican discussing the real problem, not just screaming TERRA TERRA TERRA! THEY DID IT FIRST! EVIL DOERS!

10. Probably just a show
My senator, Gordon Smith, just spoke out against this bill, but all calls to his office indicate that he will vote for it, and that stance is a firm one.

13. Spooky Arlen is the Republicker version of Joe Biden
He loves to hear himself speak, but in the end, he's just going to pull his knees up to his chin and beg for more.

18. I've fallen for his impersonation of an American too many times
He makes good noises and then caves. In fact, he gives them cover by pretending to care about the rule of law. "See?" the say. "We satisfied Specter, so our bill must be okay."
