What is the status of the torture bill in the Senate?
And, does it even really matter once the house votes in favor? Is this a DONE deal?

1. Done, if you believe AP
The mostly party-line 253-168 vote in the Republican-run House came shortly after senators agreed to limit debate on their own nearly identical bill, all but assuring its passage on Thursday.

5. Every Disgrace In The Senate Is A Personal Disgrace
Edited on Thu Sep-28-06 08:36 AM by ThomWV
Individual Senators do not get to hide their disgrace behind 450 others as their brothers and sisters in the House do. Senators stand out when they act in a way that is blatantly un american.

Indeed, we have lost our direction.

6. The House version and the Senate version vary somewhat but
no its not a done deal..If the Democrats can somehow use some sort of delay tactic this bill could be dead..at least for now
But from what I have heard there are a few Democrats that would vote for the Senate version.

7. I hope they can delay it and we can take back the H/S so it's a non issue?
