I know one time I heard him say a video got 1/2 Million "hits."

When we watch his video on say "YouTube," will it help him?

I don't think it will, and therefore links to watch his video should be to his show on MS NBC - rather than to ANY other place on the web that shows videos.

1. I can't get MSNBC's stuff to play on my computer, so I appreciate
the links to Crooks & Liars, Youtube and others.

It seems like those sites work for just about everyone.

The principle people that benefit from "hits" on the MSNBC website are those in the MSNBC advertising department.

Because, they set their advertising rates for the website based largely on number of hits.

I seriously doubt Keith's contract stipulates that he receives a cut.

The most important numbers for him are television ratings.

2. I can't either
NBC's video sucks completely. I had to dig around a ton to get Steve Carell's Golden Globes speech because I didn't record the show. They had it on the NBC site but it would never load... so I went the route of bittorrent. For the amount of money NBC/Universal has you'd think they would get up to speed with the next medium of entertainment.

4. It finally works for me
After multiple failed efforts to view the Olbermann videos from the MSNBC site using FireFox and each time being presented with error verbage in the video window telling me I needed to upgrade to FireFox 1.5, Flash Player 8 and WMP 10 (I was at or above all those specs), I did one more upgrade to the Flash Player (to 9.x), restarted my computer, cleared cookies, etc., and now I'm *finally* able to view them.

However, I prefer the links elsewhere, in that I'm usually able to download and save the files linked on the other sites so that I can show them to family members, etc. The "VideoDownloader" extension for FF doesn't work with the MSNBC site.
