Would the GOP give Clinton the power they're giving Junior? Kerry? Gore?
What happens in 2009 if a Democrat 'wins' the Presidency in 2008?? What're the chances that a Democrat who's not in the pockets of the coorporate fascists will win? What're the chances the GOP would risk handing such powers to a "pinko" Democrat?

What does that say about 2008 prospects?

What does that say about the chances this legislation would survive SCOTUS?

Think it can't get worse? Think again.

1. Personally, I don`t think the repubs
have any intention of leaving office. I really do not think they are putting all of this power into bush`s hands only to hand it over to a dem. They have gone too far to go back now. I think we will someday have to take our country back by force. Even if the dems take over the house or the senate, Will they impeach?? If they don`t we have truely lost our country.

2. They're terrified of jail.
And some are terrified of hanging.

Because, when the truth comes out.....there might be a desire for justice.

3. Impeachment proceedings would have started at 9:03 am

Any Democratic President would have been convicted and removed for 3,000 counts of negligent homicide within 24 hours after the attack. And, in my book, that would have been proper, given the enormity of the negligence.

Contrast that with the way the matter was actually handled. Turned into a power-grab. I hold the GOP Congress responsible for that.

4. But what does it say about the near future?
Does the GOP care that a Democrat would use this power? Or are they comfortable that they and theirs can never be on the short end of this stick? Why?

6. Fascinating.
I guess such contemplation is just too much to ask.

8. Then what does that say about 2009???
It just doesn't make sense that the GOP would entertain the possibility for a Democrat inheriting such powers.

9. They have no intentions of ever giving up power
power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely
Today I worry for our country and our future.

10. So, if a (nominal) Democrat actually wins ...
Edited on Thu Sep-28-06 01:05 PM by TahitiNut
... does that mean they'd be a fascist under color of "D"???

I've been very, very leery of the manner in which the reich-wing is focusing the 'buzz' over who might get the nomination. It seems clear to me that by helping make any "D" prominent (name recognition) in the corporate media, the GOP wing of the Fascist Party may be playing a game of "Please don't throw me in the Briar Patch."
