Isn't that like a snowman planning a family reunion in the desert??

They're gonna get pied again just like they did in New York dumb fucking redneck idiots.

7. It's almost as if that's what they're hoping for,
the arrogant, hubris-ridden dumbfucks. It's almost as if they're punching the city in the face with such a choice, since they damn well know how blue it is and how unpopular they are there.

That's okay, I and many friends here in Rapid City, SD, are less than a day's drive away and will be happy to be on hand to "greet" them.

6. Good Lord, why in the hell would
they want to hold it there? It's a true-blue city in a blue state and chances are pretty good that they ain't gonna be all that happy to be invaded by God's Own Party. Do they have a masochistic streak or what, since they're obviously looking for a repeat of the hundreds of thousands of protesters that made their displeasure with the party known in New York in '04. What complete and total arrogant idiots!

The good thing is that, since I live in Rapid City, SD, I'll be able to join the hundreds of thousands of protesters that will most assuredly greet God's Own Party and will be very, very happy to do so.

12. The geography of downtown St. Paul might have been a factor.
There's not a lot of room for mass protests because of the location of the convention center. Also, the city itself is rather small; many of the streets are narrow and it's hard to get into the downtown area from the south because of the Mississippi river. Maybe they figured protesters would be deterred, or could be kept out, because they can more easily limit access from all directions.

But I don't think that will stop us...

31. No, it sure won't,
what a bunch of hubris-ridden arrogant dumbfuck idiots to think that it would. They can run, but they sure can't hide. And I have the feeling that things will be so bad by the time of the convention that they'll be met with torches and pitchforks and run right out of town!

16. I hate to say it, but we're not as blue as most people think. The suburbs
are filled with wealthy Repugs that don't have roots here. The image of the Twin Cities as a bunch of Wellstone liberals is a bit distorted. Geez, we've got two of the worst: the empty-suit Normie Coleman and the Rebug lap dog Tim Pawlenty, afterall. My neighborhood's filled with these pesky varmints. My hope is that Pawlenty will be gone by then, and Norm will be on his way out. God, I'm pissed these pukes are coming here.

though, as I said in another thread, it will no dobut spill over to Minneapolis hotels.

10. The last time they were here they all left two days early
They were bored and complained about the poor food (I believe they were mainly fed baked beans). But that was the 1800's.

Sorry I don't have a source for this available. I read it in a Minneapolis Tribune article a few weeks ago.

13. Hey, this excellent news for all of the Twin Cities hookers.
I don't think any NYC hookers have had to work since the GOP left in 2004 because they raked in so much cash.

With that many Republicans in town, the locals won't be able to satisfy all their, er, needs.

17. St. Paul will work well for them because
the sidewalks in St. Paul are rolled up at about 7:00 p.m. They can appear to be on their best behavior while sneaking over to Minneapolis to satisfy their temptations of the flesh.

Except
for the fact that Minneapolis is easy to reach from St. Paul but the way back to St. Paul is a well-kept secret that they won't know. Many of them will miss a good part of the convention.

I sure am. Never have to see that damn elephant logo of theirs with the trunk morphing into the neck of a Fender guitar again!

Twin Cities' loss is Cleveland's gain!

on edit: I do hear the local hooker population is disappointed. They were hoping to do the usual land-office business done by prostitutes during Repub conventions.
