Republican Lindsay Graham speaking against habeas corpus...
..on the Senate floor now.

Just said that the military should determine if a prisoner is a combatant, and civilian judges can't make that judgement.

6. Lindsay Graham just added that prisoners shouldn't be able
...to sue over mistreatment.

Lindsay Graham is agaisnst human rights.

The whole rebel-Republican thing for standing up to Bush on an issue (and then caving) is bogus.

28. Lindsay is one of the more flexible republicans
He was for habeus corpus before he was against it. Just like he was against impeachment before he was for it. He knows the difference between right and wrong, but he''s willing to overlook it.

2. Why is it a bad thing to give a detainee, after detention,
the right to ask a court why he is being held?

Bad People want to HURT YOU! Anyone who argues that a "bad person" deserves rights, like a fair trial, is a Bad People Lover and Probably a Bad People, themselves!

Is that right? :silly:

3. I suspect more and more every day that they are just setting things
into motion so they can arrest and torture dissenters without ever having to charge them or give them a trial.

or at the very least, they are setting it up as a backup plan in case things get ugly and we try to actually throw the bums out when they refuse to leave.

9. So Graham advocates military rule rather than civilian rule of law?
Graham took an oath to defend the Constitution, time to resign your commission and your seat.

13. Overlooking the obvious
This is not a conventional war and the military is not in a position to correctly determine whether these men are enemy combatants.

26. Graham needs to go back to racking balls for a living
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1535846-3,00.html

>>>Making his own way is nothing new for Graham. He grew up in the rooms behind the Sanitary Cafe, a pool hall, bar and liquor store that his parents owned in Central, S.C. Graham's father, known as Dude, tended bar for the millworker clientele; the future Senator racked balls and answered phones.<<<
