5. There have been several "outbursts" from the GALLERY today.
The galley is the kitchen, btw. But yes, it has been a hell of a day. I am surprised that it might be sent back to committee, and also at the number of people standing up to say this bill is dangerous. I am sure the republicans will still rubber-stamp it for Heir Bush eventually, but good on the dems for pulling a procedural maneuver on the republicans. Anything to delay/stall/stop this outrageous, harmful bill.

38. So far, 34 House Democrats just became war criminals.
Voting to condone torture is complicity in torture.

Complicity in torture is a war crime.

If (or when) The Hague or an international tribunal decides to indict pro-torture Congress-critters for war crimes, I will consider it my patriotic duty to actively and physically aid in arresting them.

40. I'm expecting the usual cast of nasties in the senate to cross-over...
Byrd... LIEberman... Nelson...

I suggested to Sen. Kennedy's office that Dems can just say they're against the bill because it gives too many rights to terrorists and that Republicans want to coddle them.

Sensenbrenner says the bill gives 36 new rights to terrorist suspects...

This should be the link to the roll call once the clerk updates the site. It is not yet active.
