I DO NOT boycott Fox News
I just require a little higher level of discourse than they provide so I just simply don't watch it.

1. I think my viewing patterns are pretty typical of my demographic . . .
And have the broadcast networks weeping in their beer and the cable networks feeling very anxious:

I don't watch any news program regularly. I drop into CNN now and then to see if there are any headlines, but their regular anchors are so offputting I can't stay watching for more than a few minutes. I'll let one of the CSPANs play in the TV room if it's an interesting topic. I don't go to Fox because I don't like the buildup of spittle on the inside of the screen, and none of the other cables have much to attract me.

I will breeze past the Sunday shows, but I actually prefer listening to them on CSPAN radio on Sunday afternoon, because, frankly, who needs to watch these guys when you can listen?

I get most of my news from WaPo (I still like to read a paper in the morning) and the Internet.

As I say, I'm pretty typical of my demographic, which is why advertisers and TV news divisions are suffering these days.

6. Are they all bad?
I don't have cable. I'm frequently invited for dinner by friends who have on nothing but Fox.
