It's Time For Major Papers (NY Times. etc) To Call For Impeachment
Edited on Wed Sep-27-06 02:06 PM by stopbush
I know, I know, they have been enablers of bushco, but with this torture bill ready to pass the House,
our Republic is on the brink. As Dennis Kucinich pointed out today, there is a proviso in this bill
would allow bush to declare CONGRESSMEN to be ENEMY COMBATANTS on a whim! This is outrageous
and extraordinary.

The few remaining media outlets that have even a shred of credibility left must come to the defense of the
Republic, NOW, before it's too late. This isn't partisan sniping or the usual "politics as contact sport" crapola
that they normally cover. This is the dismantling of the Constitution and our Republic, before our eyes and the
eyes of the world.

1. Whoa!
You mean we can get rid of the pukes in the next session after we win the house and/maybe the senate? Even cheney if he serves as a tie breaker some time?

:sarcasm:

Good thing my ethical standards are higher than most pukes or I'd have a tough time with this.

No Torture.

3. Listening to the R & D speakers on this issue is an education.

An R got up and said that the provisions applied only to "aliens," not American citizens. He then cited the
piece of legislation that gave the protection to Americans, even citing page & verse. Case closed, right?

Wrong.

A D from Oregon (Mr Woo?) pointed out that the provision the R referred to was tacked on to an appropriations bill
as an amendment and that (here's where you learn shit!) the provision EXPIRES on the date that the appropriations bill
expires! In other words, the provision exempts citizens from arrest/torture etc until the appropriation bill runs its course in a year or so and
THEN the safeguard for American citizens is moved! JFTDC!

Good thing we have smarts on our side. The question is, can smarts defeat evil?

4. In answer to your question...
I believe the Rs exist to only feed their power. IMO everything they stand for is evil. Unfortunately they control both houses right now.

My hope is that we'll overtake one or both houses of congress. This bill is an abomination.

2. The "major papers" are brain-dead
All they know how to do are Fall Fashion sections and mega-designed feature fronts about "What to do with pumpkins."

Most newspapers in this country are so out of touch, there's more truth on their comics pages.
