Bolton tries to correlate Iraq war, with US response to Pearl Harbor

http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N27410304.htm

Democrats pressured Republican senators to say whether they believe the Iraq war has inspired more extremists.

...

John Bolton, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, used a World War Two analogy to buttress the White House position.

"If you said after the attack on Pearl Harbor that the American response had increased the violence in the Pacific, you would be right, wouldn't you?" he asked reporters in New York.

"Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event — like a new Pearl Harbor."

2. Yah know, no one questioned FDR's decision to invade Mexico.
Just sayin' is all.

(People who say that never happened hate America.)

3. Yeah Bolton but after 3 1/2 years in WWII
we actually won that war. It wasn't an open-ended conflict that it's starters claimed would be over with in 'six days, six weeks, I doubt six months." (Rumsfeld)

These bastards are trying, once again, to change the argument and pretend that 'we have always said this' which is an out and out lie.

5. Bolton and Cheney are assuming that the American public are fools.
They're correct with their own rabid base, but sadly underestimating the ability of average folks to see through this bullshit. Bushies: simpletons, one and all.

7. These nutcases have a fixation with WW II
Everything is compared to WW II. I love the chain letter that says "Roosevelt declared war on Germany and they never attacked us." Except that the truth is, Germany declared war on us. These people are delusional idiots.

9. ...and Congress, not FDR, responded in kind.
FDR accepted that war with Germany was inevitable, but he would not act without Congressional approval.
