Anyone seen Musharaf on the Daily Show yet?
I have to wait up until 11:00 and can't make it tonight. I just wondered if Jon asked him if he was threatened? and if so what he said.

1. He asked him if he could pour him green jasmine tea.

I guess he's working his way up to assassination.

5. It is amazing!
Jon does a better job, a more cogent ambassadorial job, swinging flat footed, cold decked, in five minutes than the entire booosh hit squad.

Earnestly respectful and well informed--interested.

6. Is it OK to like Musharaf?
he seemed very nice and also very thoughtful about the problems his country is facing.
Does anyone know where he was educated?

7. I was very impressed with him...
It made me wonder if the reason for no elections in Pakistan is because he doesn't want the extremists in power. He appeared very reasonable and had a nice sense of humor.

10. Mushie is a fugging tool.
General Musharaf was born into a diplomatic family in Delhi before partition of India and the creation of Pakistan.

He trained further at the Royal College of Defence Studies in Sandhurst.

8. Yeah, Musharref was pimping his new book.
But overall, I was impressed how Stewart can be funny--he cracked a couple of jokes--yet still respectful of a head of state. Musharref struck me as having a decent sense of humor about the whole thing.

I especially like the crack about the bridge. It seems both attempts on his life have occurred on the same bridge. Jon suggested he find a new route to work. Mush actually got a bit of a laugh over that, but came back seriously with a statement to the effect he's standing up to those people, so would continue to use that bridge.

I'm not sure what to think of Musharref, other than he looks more statesman-like and intelligent than our "head of state." But, who doesn't?

9. Jon asked him if an election were held today in Pakistan
between Osama bin Laden and Bush* who would win. He said they would both do miserably and neither was liked at all.
