2. Housing market is trashed and foreclosures are WAY up
Edited on Tue Sep-26-06 09:47 PM by havocmom
cheap gas won't buy many votes. Most know it's a scam and are asking why it is falling if the high prices were really justified.

And unemployed people can't buy much no matter what the price.

Edited to add: DEMS need to make sure America remembers that little check the junta had Congress OK for all the households... and how they ended up paying it all back when April 15th rolled around.

30. Part of foreclosure problem could be those home equity loans
that have been seriously pushed for the past few years. Makes me think the tanking of the economy was all part of the plan. Good way for the Haves & Have Mores to make sure that uppity middle class and those worker bees learn their place: under the thumbs of the ultra rich

Lots of people about to become homeless in the US. Rents up so if you can't pay your mortgage, you are gonna be hard pressed to rent a decent place to live. Workers and middle class finding out that in this 'ownership society' PEOPLE are what gets owned.

16. then i do agree, it's the thought of rednecks actually getting anything...
that becomes a wildcard; but don't get me wrong, my dad was from kentucky, was a nice/sweet redneck, did undertsand, but would have never voted for this bush kid :)

26. eh, you'll do just fine, after this pesky election (maybe those things...
have reached their usefulness apex) you'll be riding high again another war coming don't you know. knew a good ole irish boy in southern cal that felt the same way about a handful of little ole wells he kinda liked cause he & his brother poked them themselves back when...he'd just shake his head at a quarterly payout of some 2700-3000 bucks in the 80's; but he was an old boy and long since sold his hot-plant

he had stocks everywhere though, i swear he must have bought into AT&T when they were not but two wires hanging out of the wall but ah...the joys of getting in on the ground floor ;)

diversity! i'll bet you dollars to donuts that's the ticket :kick:

Edited on Tue Sep-26-06 10:57 PM by Hippo_Tron
And I don't think that will be a problem once Kean gets spanked by Menendez in the upcoming debates. I haven't seen much polling on Felix vs Webb recently but I'd think that Webb will be up since Felix is stuck in a bad news cycle that won't end.

27. Well. if it's any consolation, the question of Jack Cafferty's weekend
show last week was "Will the lower gas prices affect how you vote in Nov?"

Just before he read some emails, he said "I received thousands of responseson this question, and I'm glad to say, I didn't receive even ONE yes reponse!" Seems that almost all the responders believe the prices are being manipulated!

29. thanks for this post, but you know something else, when Cafferty first...
came on (and yes i realize he's been in the NYC market for like ever) i had my doubts, it didn't seem like he had his theme worked out and was on the other end...perhaps with the passing of all the neocon bullshit after seeing how they used a national tragedy that occurred in his town; he has come into what seems like his centered, proper voice and that makes more sense to me

i've been appreciating Cafferty more these last 6 months or so

31. At least recently, Jack has been posing question no one else on
the tube will ask! I find it hysterical watching the look on Wolfe's face after Jack does his analysis of his question of the hour during the week. Sometimes the best Wolfe can get out is a low grunt!

32. At this point, I'd bet that any change in gas prices will be bad for Rs
Prices go up - bad foreign policy combined with cronyism is driving up prices and hurting Americans.

Prices go down - clear evidence that the Rs and their cronies have been ripping us off for the past five years, and now they think we're stupid enough to sell our votes for table scraps. (The only worry, of course, is that when I think back to the Great Tax RebateTM, many people are stupid enough to accept the scraps.)
