1. yes, they are smearing Tammy Duckworth in IL06
They are lying about her stance on illegal immigration and Tammy has a commercial out there of her refuting the RNC commercial and she finishes it with I approve of this message because its the truth.

9. Wasn't there an ad charging Tammy,
who, of course, left her legs in an explosion in Iraq
and is bravely facing a future that would hammer any of us, with the puke clown sin of cut and run? Perhaps I am mixing it up with some other publicon regurgitation.

32. It Was In A Radio Debate
Here's a good recap:

http://electioncentral.tpmcafe.com/blog/electioncentral/2006/sep/26/il_06_vet_amputee_duckworth_hits_back_at_gopers_cut_and_run_broadside

I live in the 8th District...right next to the 6th. We get commercials here for Melissa Bean (she's been on since 4th of July) and McSweeny who just started after Labor Day. He hasn't tried to slime her yet...maybe cause he's got such poor name recognition and is trailing by 10-15 points in most polls.

I saw some of the Chicago Media pick up on Rokesma's sleazy shot at Tammy and they were ridiculing how a paper-pusher for DeLay has the cajones to question a lady who lost her legs in Iraq. It took this campaign off the back pages and have started to generate some media buzz in Chicago...and most of its been pro-Duckworth.

There's also a couple of good diaries on dailykos on the race and Instapundit, too.

Cheers..

2. Sorta lame ones against Tester in MT airing
We beat them by asking why the GOP won't talk about THEIR OWN RECORD. If they want to be re-elected, they must be proud of something ;)

They can't run on their record and they can't run on real issues. People are seeing right through the wedge issues straw-man. The got nuttin... we need to keep pointing that out.

10. Where the woman had to have skin graft on her genitals? That case?
people make fun of that case without knowing anything aabout it. All she wanted was for McDonals to pay the medical bills. I think it was less than $10,000. But they stonewalled her and when the jury found out that they knew their coffee was so hot it caused 2nd and 3rd degree burns, that they had been warned many times that they had to lower the tempature but they refused to, the jury just took it on themselves to send them a message. The amount was overturned on appeal and ended up being a reasonable settlement and punitive damages, based on the evidence.

And remember, it was a jury of "regular people" who took it upon themselves to awrd the original punitive damages. They were angry when they found out that McDonald's was flauting the law, didn't care about people being maimed by their product, and was continuing to provide their coffee too hot.

Now, if a man's genitals were burned so badly that he had to have skin grafts, would it still be a "frivolous" lawsuit?

24. Freepers love to bring up that case in almost Pavlovian fashion
when the subject of lawsuits comes up with regards to any case at all! 99% of the public doesn't know the basic facts about the case; specifically, the willingness on her part to settle for just the medical bills, but the McAsshats got greedy so she decided to go after them. Just another tragic consequence of our 5-second sound-bite culture...

It called Jim Webb a "fiction writer", and then talked about his time in the Reagan administration as "brief". It had a nasty tone, and although I dont remember any other specifics it seemed that they were trying to say that Webb was only with Reagan a short time and it ended badly.

This is going to be ugly.

16. Malodorous Ads Here in Minnesota Congressional District 6
The scenario: religious-right Republican wacko Michele Bachmann vs. Democratic candidate and child-protection advocate Patty Wetterling in a race ranked as one of the twenty closest in the country.

The Republican National Congressional Committee mailed me two anti-Wetterling attack ads last week. They're large and conspicuous, expensively produced, featuring photos that make Wetterling look like one of the Munsters.

The front of one ad shows a photo of a dockhand pushing a heavy crate marked "AMERICAN JOBS: OVERSEAS SHIPMENT" up the gangplank. "Shipping American jobs overseas hurts American workers", the headline intones.

Turn the card over, and a headline screams, "PATTY WETTERLING IS HELPING LOAD THE SHIP".

"Huh?", I wonder. "How do they figure? She doesn't even hold public office!" The ad hastens to explain:

"Patty Wetterling's financial disclosures reveal that she has had a financial interest in companies that outsource jobs overseas or employ cheap labor overseas."

"SEND PATTY WETTERLING A MESSAGE", it continues. "ON NOVEMBER 7, VOTE FOR MICHELE BACHMANN."

Sooo...what's it all about?

Turns out that Wetterling has some shares in some mutual funds. And some of those mutual funds have shares of stock in companies that have outsourced some jobs, or taken advantage of cheap overseas labor. (Are there any Fortune 500 companies that haven't?)

Of course, Wetterling's opponent has similar mutual fund holdings. And so do I. And so does anyone who has a 401k. But the attack piece leaves a casual reader with the impression that Wetterling is responsible for shipping American jobs overseas.

The whole scummy thing is exposed by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune in this article:

http://www.startribune.com/blogs/bigquestion/?p=270#comments

I'd like to know if this dumb-ass tactic is being used to smear Democrats in other races across the country.

"I don't care if people are Dems or Republicans - I work with all of them." No kidding Bill. To be fair, I'm in a 60% Repubnlican area so I guess that's the only kind of ad he can run HERE.

He's running aginst Katherine Harris so there' absolutely no way I'm not voting for him. If Katherine Haris won I would simply have to drive off a cliff.

Minneapolis Star-Tibune Spanks Repubs For Lying About Wetterling In Campaign Lit

http://www.startribune.com/587/story/690973.html

The National Republican Congressional Committee has sent two literature pieces to households in the Sixth Congressional District attacking Democrat Patty Wetterling for failing to vote in three elections.

The attacks are inaccurate. Calling them merely deceptive would be a kindness. The Wetterling campaign calls them a "lie." You decide.

The Republican National Congressional Committee has been sending out shrill-toned mailers to aid Bachmann. The mailers make a big stink about Wetterling supposedly passing up the opportunity to vote in the elections of 2000, 2002, and 2004 (as if that would disqualify anyone from holding office).

Turns out that she did vote in the general elections all three years. She just didn't vote in the primaries in 2000 and 2002. In 2004, she voted in the primary -but she didn't exercise her right to vote in her precinct caucus. As far as the Repubs are concerned, that counts as not voting in 2000, 2002, and 2004.

Sheesh.

29. Nothing but lies from Santorum
http://www.bobcasey.com/news/article/view/?id=162

Santorum portrays seven men as backroom dealers working for the Casey campaign, as all being corrupt. Only one of them has given a small donation to Casey's senate run, one is dead, and two have donated to Santorum.

The ad even claims Robert Feldman is Casey's handpicked campaign finance chairman, yet he hadn't given any money to Casey, isn't involved in the Senate campaign, and he and his wife have instead given money to Santorum.

Lies and distortion.

His poll numbers haven't budged.

Scott Tipton v. John Salazar in my Congressional district, this 2-part deal that starts out with John Salazar voted against this, that, and the other good thing or for this, that, and the other bad thing. Then Tipton comes on and says he's for border security including "a good old-fashioned fence," against "giving welfare benefits to illegal immigrants," and whatever else. "Let's bring some good ol' Collerada common sense back to Congress," sez he. He sounds like a total hick.

Salazar's ad is just silly. He's a farmer. Let's send a farmer to Congress.

I should add that I'm only assuming Tipton's a Republican, because so few of the ads state party affiliations anymore.

There are a few negative ads but mainly stuff on blog sites that is just horribly negative. Here is what I think is the worst blog:

Talent also has signs in Kansas. Yes I know - he is a senator from Missouri. But he is putting signs up in Kansas. Go figure.
