Poll: (D) Harold Ford Jr. leads 45%-39% in second straight Senate Poll
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tennessee_United_States_Senate_election,_2006

It looks like the SurveyUSA poll wasn't a fluke, and mirrors a downward trend for Corker and upward trend for Harold Ford Jr. This thus adds a sixth seat that is looking good for Democrats in the pick up column:

Tennessee
Rhode Island
Ohio
Pennsylvania
Montana
Missouri

In Minnesotta Klobuchar is kicking Mark Kennedy's ass all over the map and has expanded her lead from single digits to anywhere from 15%-24%, so Minnesota is a safe seat. Maryland, also, a safe seat. This leaves only one seat we might lose to the Republicans:

New Jersey

If we win all six and lose New Jersey, the senate is 50-50, GOP control through Cheney.

This proves that James Webb HAS to win in Virginia. We can't count on New Jersey. We have to play for keeps. Win seven seats, not six and certainly not five.

I think Allen is gone...

Webb chews tobacco for God sake! That makes him palatable even for the Bubba crowd.

6. I always thought Ford was a comer,
he was Johnny on the spot with his commercials. And I don't think the real demolition has even started yet. Wait til he waylays Corker in the debate. That's when people will see he really needs to be the Senator for Tennessee.

I'm sure there has to be a debate coming up. It will be a Democratic creamsickle.

8. And Corker is a goner. His commercials are bad and Ford's are GOOD!

We're going to elect a Democrat!

9. Corker's ad sucks the big one...
It looks like he's sitting with his mother and he proclaims that as mayor he cut crime by 50%. The man is a walking RW talking point.

Still 42 days until election. Gotta keep my feet on the ground and my eye on the ball. :bounce:

14. Missouri.. I don't know about Missouri...
It's possible, but not as likely as the others. I think we need to start working very hard in Missouri though because I highly doubt we'll win the Ohio Senate no matter how good the polls look for us there.

The polls there have been fluctuating quite dramatically, so we need to steady that fluctuation in favor of McCaskill.

15. I'm counting on New Jersey
New Jersey dems have one of the best GOTV operations in the country which helped Kerry in '04 and Corzine in '05. Plus there are 3 debates coming up. Menendez will clean Little Tommy's clock.
