To all lurking Freepers, Neocons, Bush apologists:
Edited on Tue Sep-26-06 07:57 PM by hiaasenrocks
You guys just keep talking about Clinton. We'll shake our heads and laugh as you do.

It's obvious what your strategy is here: Deflect attention from the disaster that is the Bush Presidency.

You keep laughing and talking about the fact that Clinton's face turned red on TV. We'll shake our heads and remember that it's five years after 9/11 and bin Laden is still on the loose.

You keep talking about how Clinton pointed and wagged his finger at Chris Wallace - the same finger he wagged when he told the nation he didn't have a sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky. We'll shake our heads and remember that it's been roughly 1,250 days since your beloved Bush proclaimed "Mission Accomplished" in Iraq, while Americans are still being killed and wounded there, fighting for...what?

You keep talking about how Clinton got "defensive" during the interview. We'll shake our heads and remember that the Taliban is making a slow but steady comeback in Afghanistan, a country we pretty much ignore now, since Bush switched the focus to Iraq, a nation that did not pose a threat to the security of the US.

You keep talking about Clinton shifting in his seat, his face turning purple in anger, as Wallace "asked him the tough questions" about whether he did enough to catch bin Laden. We'll shake our heads and remember that it was Bush who once said he didn't care where bin Laden was, and that it wasn't a top priority (then went on to prove it by letting bin Laden slip away at Tora Bora.)

You keep talking about Clinton, who has been out of office for over five years now, and you people are still obsessed with his sex life. We'll shake our heads and remember that for all Clinton's faults, nothing he did - nothing, nada, zip - will ever come close to matching the damage done to this country by Bush and his cabal of liars.

You keep talking about Clinton. Go ahead. You can't afford to have the nation talking about the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

But we'll be here. Shaking our heads. And we'll remind the American people what you and your ilk have done to this great nation.

I don't think that's working, though.

People can smell the difference. Real leader, brainiac, humanitarian vs. puppet, moron, and sociopath. Yeah, it's easy.

Republicans Disgust Me These Days
Every time their party is in trouble, they blame everything on Clinton. It's really getting old, Freepers. You have ruined the reputation of this nation, & I despise you for it. Your party always said that the Democrats were going to lead America to financial ruin, but look who is trying to do it instead--*your* party. Your party is trying to take democracy away from Americans & replace it with fascism. You railed so much against the "liberal media", & yet your party has a stranglehold over the airwaves. You blew it, Republicans. You blew it *big time*. You will probably lose congress, & you deserve it. Your party is so full of crooks these days that they deserve to be in jail, not running the country. Whatever happened to the moderate Republicans that I could at least have a grudging respect for? I have absolutely no respect for the slimeballs who run your party now. So laugh all you want, while your party goes down the drain.

Tammy

they never actually *believed* what they said. They know they are spouting lies, that was their plan and it worked. They changed the discourse and the vocabulary and got into power. Unfortunately for them (and us) this admin has no idea how to govern and couldn't even implement their own plans in a sustainable way. They are too greedy.

It's like that fable where the animal sees their reflection in the water when they are holding something in their mouth, so they try to grab the one from the reflection and lose the one they already have. Hm... what story was that...

23. Now THAT is what I don't get.
I think we're in a position to take the House and Senate this year. And that momentum, combined with Dumbya's horrific record, could very well propel us into the WH in '08. If my assumptions are correct, then the only thing standing in our way is...us. And, unfortunately, there seems to be no shortage of (alleged) Democrats who are more than willing to stand in our own way. Frustrating.

30. I'm all set with that..
What IS frustrating is the infiltration of this forum with pseudo Democrats...aka..Repub/Ch..
Who demonize any suggestion of a viable Presidential Democrat candidate. I don't mind debating
issues, but these pseuds are all about personalitys and personal preferences. All the while, they
are just looking for ammo to take back to repub strategists.

When is this forum going to purge these rapscallions who serve no purpose other than diluting
civil discourse?

12. What I think I saw
on the Chris Wallace interview was a defining moment in Bill Clinton's life.
I think I saw the death of the third way. I never believed in it, but Bill did.
Of course, the problem with bi-partisanship is that it takes two to play.

I think Bill saw that they will NEVER co-operate-- never think of the common good.
Bill, they never gave a rat's ass about the common good. They believe in the power of greed and destruction.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... won't get fooled again.
Ok Bill, the love fest is officially over. Time to start breaking elbows,
fingers, and knees.

Then, if they don't knuckle under, I have a louisville slugger and I will
engrave the presidential seal on it, just for you, man. All you gotta do is
pick it up and use it. Think of them pissing on your legacy, and aim for the
boney prominences...

I've been of the opinion that sometimes some of our own (Democrats) are far too concilliatory towards BushCo and other Repukes. And the press is, too. Time to stop that shit. Time to fight ugly. I think we'll even win more votes that way. People respect fighters.

President Clinton, out of office, is STILL doing more good for the world than Bush could ever hope to. And, of course, Bush doesn't hope to, which is the problem.

32. One thing I'm just not getting...
Now, Clinton was president from 1992 to 2000. Yes, they knew Bin Laden was a bad guy, but the blips on the radar for 'bad guys' are legion. He did just about ever thing in his power for taking on Islamic fundamentalist terrorists outside of going to direct war with Afghanistan. Hell, he was even stemmed by the 'pubs, who at the time thought it rediculous...

9/11 happened in 2001. Until then, just about everyone on the f***ing planet had no idea who the f*** Bin Laden was. It is now 2006 and no one has caught, killed, or otherwise done anything that would stop him from gaining power and/or influence.

Pre 9/11/2001, the need to get Bin Laden was no where near a high level of anyone's public political radar. (Furthermore, it's not as though this guy has a monopoly on terrorism and killing him will accomplish anything more than making him a martyr.)

Am I misunderstanding the situation or are 'pubs just that stupid/desperate?
