Someone should make Bush reread his Bible before torturing people.
Edited on Tue Sep-26-06 05:17 PM by Bleachers7
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
—Romans 12:17-21, NIV

religiosity thing in the first place.

It was a sham.

He is evil.

He is stupid.

For him and his ilk, God is a political tool. A means to an end.

The only thing he understands and worships is power.

on edit: added last sentence.

6. On the other hand
The violent, brutal, and heartless acts approved in the Bible should completely discredit it as a moral guide.  Many instances of cruelty can be found in the book to prove the point.

No wonder Thomas Paine said: "To read the Bible without horror, we must undo everything that is tender, sympathizing and benevolent in the heart of man."

Throughout history, innumerable Bible-believers have followed his example and teachings by committing horrendous violence - and felt good about themselves for doing so.

Such acts led Sir James Paget to say in the nineteenth century: "I know of no book which has been a source of brutality and sadistic conduct, both public and private, that can compare with the Bible." And the Enlightenment philosopher Montesquieu observed: "No kingdom has ever suffered as many civil wars as the kingdom of Christ."

7. One, he doesn't really HAVE a bible.
Two, he can't read.

Three. Even if he had a bible and could read, he wouldn't dare read anything that went against what HE says is right.
Remember, he's the DECIDER! :puke:
