Is the Pentagon the one fighting release of the pictures? The White House, since under the Unitary Executive theory, the Pentagon is the White House.

1. I check the ACLU site for updates occassionally

but it seems that they're just ignoring the court order. Imagine that, contempt for our judicial branch coming from the White House.

2. The case is tied up in appeal

On June 16 Judge Hellerstein ordered the release of more photos; the order was appealed on June 30th and is still being ruled upon. Plaintiffs (ACLU) have filed their second motion for summary judgement, defendants have filed their first. Both are still before the court.

The amount of legal firepower the DOD is throwing at this is...immense. Think "nuclear". The photos/videos must be damning.

4. Can anyone tell me what is on those pictures to make them so dangerous?

I've heard (which means nothing) that they show rape and sodomy with children. That was months ago and maybe I'm wrong. Did anyone else here this when the story broke? Someone tell me I'm wrong.

9. Well I haven't seen the photos myself but I understand

that some Senators and Congressmen got physically sick when they saw the rest of the photos and video. Seymour Hersch has reported that there are photos and video of a young boy being raped, he commented on the horrors of the screaming that could be heard on the tapes.

that particular batch is met with allegations of "panties on the head" and do not really show the real horrors Hersch describes in the second batch. I saw some numbnuts on CSPAN trying to equate the torture to just an inconvenience, a discomfort, completing denying what is really going on.

The second batch of videos and photos that Hersch describes needs to be outed. The wingnuts need to see the truth. Even then they will still believe the hype and not what they will construe as their lying eyes.

Listen, you don't need to convince me. It's the Republicans that are in denial. Hersch describes some horrific shit (drills, rape, etc.) on the second batch.

It does show rape, sodomizing children, etc. It will kill the "harmless fraternity prank" angle put out by Limbaugh, Hannity & the like.

And, it will also supposedly show that it's more than a few bad apples doing this as well.
