Very sad news regarding DUer Alarcojon.

Alarcojon passed away early this morning after a long, tough battle with leukemia. I know he had a great many friends on DU who will be saddened by this news. We are all devastated here; for awhile the prognosis seemed good, but complications resulting from the treatment became quite severe in the last month or so. May his spirit (mountain-sized, lion-hearted) journey quickly and safely to the next life; may the next life be brighter and happier than this one. Adios, Alarcojon. You will be missed.

I corresponded with him before his bone marrow transplant. He went in to it with a very positive attitude. He was a gentle soul.

I had planned to go in and see him (if the health care team approved) since he was being treated here, but then my own mom was diagnosed with cancer and my attention span narrowed for everything else.
